Forest of Ten Thousand Peaks (Wanfenglin)
It is one of the three major karst landforms in southwest China and the largest and most typical karst peak forest in the country. Wanfenglin consists of East and West Peak Forests but only West Peak Forest is opened to the public. Countless peaks in different shapes, surrounded by green fields will give travelers a visual shock. With a comfortable temperature, it is a famous summer resort. There are also some Buyei villages, travelers can enjoy its unique ethnic customs and culture. You should pay attention to that from February to April, it is the best time to appreciate rape flowers. Also, the best time to visit Wanfenglin on the usual days is in the afternoon as it is often foggy in the morning.

Maling River Canyon Scenic Spot
It is a long and deep rift cut by the surging Maling River. The canyon is famous for the deep rift, spectacular waterfalls and karst caves. Travelers can drift along the river which is very thrilling and enjoy the scenery along the man-made plank trail. While drifting, tourists can also view the waterfalls on the way.

Wanfeng Lake
The name comes from the surrounding Wanfenglin which embraces the lake. Wanfeng Lake presents different beautiful views in the morning, afternoon and evening. Xianahui Village
With more than 300 years of history and Nahui River passing by, the entire village is linked through the ancient bridges. It is the settlement for Buyei people. Travelers can walk along the river, watch Buyei ethnic performance, rest under the thousand years old tree, and taste local Buyei drinks such as Corn Wine and Cane Wine.

Best Time to Visit Xingyi

The best time to visit Xingyi is from February to April and July to August. The climate in Xingyi Guizhou belongs to the subtropical mountain monsoon humid climate. The summer from June to August is not so hot, and the winter from December to February is not cold. The average annual temperature is 15-18℃ (59-64.4℉). The average temperature in January is 7°C (44.6℉), and the average temperature in July is 22°C (71.6℉).

During the period from the end of February to the beginning of April, the rape flowers in Xingyi will bloom. July and August are good times to watch waterfalls and go drifting.

Xingyi Wanfenglin Airport is located Xingyi City of Qianxinan Buyi and Miao Autonomous Prefecture in Guizhou Province, 7 kilometers (4.3 miles) away from the center. Xingyi Airport has been connected with Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu and other 20 cities. City bus line 1/ 82/ ZX3 go to the downtown Xingyi.

Travelers can also choose to take trains to Xingyi Railway Station which is about 20 km (12.4 mi) far away from Xingyi, and then take Bus No.81 and Bus No.2 to the city center.

Within the city area, there is no metro in service. Travelers can take buses which almost extend to all directions. The taxi charges CNY 5 for the first 2.5 km and CNY 1/km for subsequent distance. It may cost CNY 45-50 from Xingyi Railway Station and CNY 15-20 from XingYi Wanfenglin Airport to the downtown area of Xingyi Guizhou. Travelers can take Bus No.19 from Xingyi City to Wanfenglin Scenic Area and Bus No. 4 to Maling River Canyon Scenic Spot.

Best Xingyi Food to Try

The local food in Xingyi Guizhou is a perfect combination of the northern cooked wheaten food, western meat and southern rice, and is also influenced by Sichuan and Hunan cuisines which are characterized by spicy and fresh taste. Mutton Vermicelli, Chicken Tangyuan, Beef Vermicelli, Glutinous Rice Cake and Sticky Rice are worth tasting.

Mutton Vermicelli
With more than 300-year history, it is a famous dish in Xingyi Guizhou. It takes fresh mutton and rice noodles as the main materials, add mutton soup and oil peppers. It is full of aroma and tastes spicy, the mutton is tender but not greasy.

Chicken Tangyuan
It is a traditional snack in Xingyi. The stuffing is made of minced chicken, salt and aginomoto, and the wrapper is made of glutinous rice flour. Boil them, add chicken soup, crushed peanuts and sesame. It tastes smooth and fragrant and is very popular among tourists and local people.

Beef Vermicelli
This dish is well known to everyone in Guizhou. Beef, rice noodles, pickled radish, crystal pear are its main materials. It tastes sweet, sour and refreshing. The well-adjusted soup with fragrant beef would not let you down.
