Dalian Metro Line 4

Dalian Metro Line 4 is an east-west trunk line currently under construction. Phase 1, expected to open in 2027, will span 23.01 km (14.3 miles) with 17 stations, from Yingchengzi Station in the west to Spearfish Bay Station in the east. It will serve the Eco-Tech City, the residential neighborhoods of Xinzhai, Paoya, Shandong Road, and Jinjia Street, as well as the Spearfish Bay sub-center.

Once it starts service, it will be the city's most well-connected line because passengers can change to five other metro lines, which makes reaching the city center, major attractions, railway stations or Zhoushuizi Airport much easier. Beyond that, the line itself features Jinjia Street with cultural heritages and vintage industry-style streets, Spearfish Bay with waterfront views, and Songjiang Road on the west side with authentic everyday Dalian life.

An end-to-end trip on Line 4 is expected to take about 45 minutes for CNY 5. The busiest section will likely be Jinjia Street – Spearfish Bay, which takes about 5 minutes for CNY 2.

Phase 2: Still at the planning stage, the construction has not started yet. After extension, the full Line 4 is expected to be 27.76 km (17.2 miles) long. Phase 2 will include these stations:
Spearfish Bay– Spearfish Bay East – Haimao – Longtoushi
 

 Xinzhaizi: Transfer with Line 2
 Songjiang Road: Transfer with Line 1
 Jinjia Street: Transfer with Line 3
 Suoyuwan: Transfer with Line 5
 Zhoujiagou: future transfer with Line 6
 

Spearfish Bay Station will be the Line 4 and Line 5 interchange on the west side of the Spearfish Bay waterfront area. Around it you find Diamond Bay World Coastal Park, seaside boardwalks, the old pier and lighthouse area, and Dalian Shanshan Outlets for shopping and food. From here, you can take Line 5 for one stop to Spearfish Bay South Station, famous for Suoyuwan Professional Football Stadium. 
 

This station will serve a historic workers' neighborhood from the old industrial era of Jinjia Street. Nearby you can visit the Jinjiajie Intangible Cultural Heritage Experience Hall for paper cutting, shadow puppetry, embroidery and local crafts, then walk into Jin'er Street and the red brick worker housing blocks that show a quieter layer of Dalian history. It is good for travelers who want culture and neighborhood atmosphere.
 

From Xinzhaizi, you can take Line 2 for just one stop to reach Zhoushuizi International Airport conveniently to catch a flight.
 

Songjiang Road Station will be located at the crossing of Songjiang Road and Shandong Road, close to morning markets, dumpling shops, barbecue streets, small supermarkets, hair salons, bathhouses and neighborhood parks. Rather than a touristry spot, this will be the best place on Line 4 for visitors who want to see how ordinary people live their lives.
