Taiyuan Long-Distance Bus

Located in the central area of China, Taiyuan is an important junction of many highways. It has five main long-distance bus stations. Numerous long-distance buses link this city with lots of cities and provinces, such as Jiangsu, Shaanxi, Hunan and Hebei.

 Note: Coaches to Pingyao Old City pass by Qiao’s Compound. Duration is about an hour and ticket fare is about CNY 25.
 

Taiyuan Long-distance Bus Station

It is the busiest coach station in this city. Lots of buses can take passengers to many provinces in China and cities in Shanxi Province. Buses bound for cities in more than 20 provinces including Hebei, Shandong, Shaanxi, Henan, Hubei, and Jiangsu. The cities in Shanxi Province contain Datong, Huairen and Shanyin. Buses to Hanging Monastery in Datong and the Yingxian County Wooden Pagoda are also available here.
Note: About 450 yards (400 meters) west of Taiyuan Long-distance Bus Station (Electric Power Mansion), there are buses heading for Datong City directly, taking about four hours and at a cost of CNY 70.

Yingbin Long-distance Bus Station

Long-distance bus routes in this station contain inter-provincial routes and outer-provincial routes that cover more than 40 cities and counties, such as Xi'an, Yuncheng, Yangzhou, Beijing, Zhoukou and Baotou.

Transportation: You can take public bus no. 11, 23, 55, 813, 836, 877, 901, 901 Branch and 902, and get off at Wucheng East Street, Taiyu Road Station. After arriving, walk to the station directly.

Jiannan Long-distance Bus Station

Long-distance buses in this station can take passengers to cities in central and southeast of Shanxi Province, such as Pingyao Old City, Qi County, Changzhi City and Yangquan City.

Transportation: You can take Airport Shuttle Bus to this bus station directly. Or take public bus no. 11, 52, 611, 801, 805, 830, 837 and 837 Branch to get to the station.

East Long-distance Bus Station

Long-distance buses in the East Coach Station mainly bound for the areas in this province, such as Xinzhou City, Yuanping City and Mount Wutai.

Transportation: Take direct Airport Shuttle Bus Line 4 to the bus station. Or you can take bus no. 814 or 619 to get to the station.

West Long-distance Bus Station

West Coach Station mainly contains routes to Lvliang City.
Transportation: Take bus no.16, 50, 52, 53, 72, 809 or 834 to arrive at West Bus Station directly.
