I am wondering if you refer to recommended travel route or transportation? Anyway, for the former, you can follow the route: Taipei - Sun Moon Lake - Hualien - Kaohsiung, which is enough for your one week stay. For the latter, train and long-distance bus are very convenient. They lead to many places there. Just enjoy yourselves!

I would like to know if it is preferable to rent a car rather than using public transportation ?

Answered by Sunny | Apr. 18, 2016 04:49

Hi, public transportation is recommended, and it is very convenient. Only for some remote rural trips, you may need to hire a car.
