I am wondering if you refer to recommended travel route or transportation? Anyway, for the former, you can follow the route: Taipei - Sun Moon Lake - Hualien - Kaohsiung, which is enough for your one week stay. For the latter, train and long-distance bus are very convenient. They lead to many places there. Just enjoy yourselves!

Hi, public transportation is recommended, and it is very convenient. Only for some remote rural trips, you may need to hire a car.

It is getting warm then and spring rain shall frequently happen. The north part may have the average temp of 21-23C (70-73F), and it can be 26C (79F) for the south part. You are suggested to bring one or two pieces of summer clothing if going to south part, long-sleeved shirt and light jacket in case, as well as rain gear!
