The remembrance ceremony in memory of atomic bombing on August 6th is a highlight in Hiroshima in August, when many people gather in Atomic Bomb Dome and Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park for the memorial activities. At that night, floating lanterns on rivers compose a fascinating scene, too. During early and mid-August, sunflowers all over the Serakogen Farm and the sunflower field of Kimitacho are worth a visit in the northwest of Hiroshima city. The nearby Taishakukyo Gorge is also great to enjoy a cool day. To late August, Miyajima Fireworks Festival is attractive with the beautiful fireworks beyond imagination, crackling over the great torii of Itsukushima-jinja Shrine. It’s also good time to have fun on beaches by Seto Inland Sea.
