Zhengzhou 02: Historical Zhengzhou city
In this three day's tour, you will appreciate the historical scenic spots in Zhengzhou city from Zhongyue temple, Mt. Song and Xuanyuan former residence, ect. These sights tell you the story about the city.
This tour will start from Zhengzhou. At the beginning of the first day, take a special traveling line bus to Dengfeng city at the coach station opposite of Zhengzhou railway station. Its duration is 06:00-17:30 every day and the bus fare is 18 yuan per person for the 90 kilometers drive. After one hour or so, you can arrive in Dengfeng and take the No. 2 bus heading for the Zhongyue Temple, which is 3 kilometers away from Dengfeng city. Its entrance fare is 25 yuan. There, you can enjoy one of the largest groups of the ancient buildings in Henan Province. There lies the statue of Zhongyue the Great (the fair charging of the mountain, soil, folks and herds, etc) and some cultural relics. After your short trip there, you can take the No. 2 bus go on to its terminal. There is one of four famous ancient colleges in Song Dynasty (960 A.D. ~1279). Its admission fare is 30 yuan. Carry on your trip towards the north direction and hike about 30 minutes, you can reach Songyue temple. Do be careful when passing through the rugged path along the way, it is a bit difficult for walk. You will be charged 10 yuan for the visiting. It is the oldest bricked pagoda with polygon dense eaves and is well-known as the No.1 Pagoda in China. This pagoda is built in dodecagon and 37.6 meters in height. Besides, you can enjoy the palaces behind the pagoda. In the afternoon, you can return back to Dengfeng city and find the accommodation place. You are recommended to stay at the Shaolin hotel (Address: No. 66, Zhongyue Avenue, Dengfeng), whose room rate is 150 per room per night. It time permits, you can have a short stroll around the city to enjoy its night view after you settle at the hotel.
The second day, you are suggested to take a minibus proceeding to the famous Shaolin temple. Its entrance fare is 100 yuan. There you cannot miss the traditional Chinese Kongfu show. You will have a wonderful day. Return back to Dengfeng city for the night.
The third day, you are advised to visit the Stellar Observatory at Gaocheng town, which is 7.5 kilometers away form Dengfeng city. You can take a regular bus at the east entrance of the city moving to Gaocheng town, which is 10 kilometers away from the city center.
The Stellar Observatory is the oldest astronomical observatory in China and it is the famous building in chronometer field. It is said to be built in 1276 A.D. with more than 700 years' history behind up till today. There you can read the wisdom of Chinese ancient people. Having a short trip there, it's time for you to go back to Dengfeng city and have lunch. In the afternoon, you are suggested to carry on your tour towards the Xuanyuan former residence in Xinzheng city. As the birth place of Chinese culture and ancestors, it is visited and commemorate by many oversea fellowmen. Providing you are addicted to Chinese old culture, it is really a nice holy place for your arrival. Finishing your trip there, please return to Dengfeng. Then, leave there as your schedule.
Zhengzhou 03: 3 Days Zhengzhou - Linzhou County - Zhengzhou
Take coach for about 2 hours from Zhenzhou Bus Station to Anyang, then take anther coach for about 2 hours to the man-made Red Flag Dyke in Linzhou County,. Visit the Red Flag Dyke including the Fenshui Garden, the Youth Cave and the Lousi Pond. Stay overnight at the local hotel in Linzhou. On the next day, drive for about 30km (19 miles) to the Taihang Grand Canyon. Hike in the mountain including the visit to the Peach Valley. Return to Zhengzhou. Leave Zhengzhou according to your schedule on the last day.
Zhengzhou 04: 5 Days Zhengzhou - Luoyang - Zhengzhou - Kaifeng - Zhengzhou
Arrive in Zhengzhou on the first day and get prepared. Stay overnight at the local hotel.
On the second day, visit the Zijingshan Park (Add: No. 108, Jinshui Road, Zhengzhou) which is a big and famous park in Zhengzhou. Then take bus No. 16 for about 1 hour from Zhengzhou railway station to the Yellow River Scenery Spot and walk in the scenery spot to visit its three main scenic zone. Take the sightseeing bus the Zhengzhou Bus Station which opposite to the railway station to the Shaolin Temple. There is a bus set off to the temple every 30 minutes and the driving takes about 1.5 hours. Visit the Shaolin Temple which is well-known in Asia for Chinese Kongfu. Take a sightseeing bus for about 2 hours to Luoyang and stay overnight there.
On the third day, take us No. 56 or 58 to the White Horse Temple which is about 12km (7 miles) away from Luoyang. It is the first Buddhism temple ever built in China. Then you can take bus No. 81, 53 or 60 to the Longmen Grottoes which is about 12km (7 miles) from Luoyang. Take bus at Luoyang Head Bus Station which is 200 meters away to the east of Luoyang railway station to Zhengzhou. The driving takes about 2 hours.
On the fourth day, take bus No. 101, 102 or 103 for about 80 minutes to Kaifeng, another ancient capital. Take bus No. 5, 9 or 20 to visit the Minister Temple, bus No. 1, 4, 16, or 20 to visit the Baogong Ancestral Temple, but No. 1, 3 or 20 to visit the Iron Tower, bus No. 1 or 20 to visit the Dragon Pavilion and bus 1, 15, or 20 to visit the Qingming Riverside Landscape Garden. Return to Zhengzhou.
On the fifth day, leave Zhengzhou according to your schedule.
