December is cold in Tokyo, but it’s a festal month to celebrate Christmas and New Year. Winter illuminations everywhere light up the whole city, and Christmas markets are full of gifts and souvenirs for visitors to choose. Tokyo Disney Resort and Sanrio Puroland provide various Christmas activities for children. On New Year’ Eve, there are countdown events especially the lively party in Shibuya, and interesting fox parade in Oji area. Numerous children dress up as foxes and have their pilgrimage to Oji Inari-jinja Shrine, to show the scene in old legend. December can be a great time for ice skating in Tokyo. Winter comiket is a paradise for people who love manga and comic, while Odaiba Rainbow Fireworks offers wonderful fireworks show on every Saturday over Rainbow Bridge.
