With very small numbers of visitors at all scenic spots, you can enjoy a quiet and leisurely journey. Plus, airfare and hotel rates are exceptionally affordable at that time.
However, you should note that in years when the Chinese New Year falls in January, the situation will be different: during the Chinese New Year period, the tourist numbers and the hotel prices will increase significantly.
