The rain brings down the temperature, too. On most rainy days, the daily maximum temperature typically hovers around 10-15 degrees Celsius (50-59 degrees Fahrenheit), occasionally dipping below 10°C (50°F), while the minimum temperature generally settles around 5°C (41°F). Is February a Good Time to Admire Yangshuo?

February is not a very good time to visit Yangshuo for most visitors because of the frequent overcast and rainy days, high chances of fog after rain, and some quite cold moments. In addition, the water levels are low and the plants are not very green and lush. However, some visitors think that Yangshuo in February has its unique charm. Why?

First, February marks Yangshuo’s off-season. Most of the time, visitor number is small, attractions are not crowded, and hotel rates are cheap. Second, February 17th, 2026, marks the Chinese New Year. Visiting Yangshuo during this period, you can immerse yourself in a vibrant festive atmosphere at attractions and even your accommodation. Third, while the scenery may not be quite lush, it won’t be barren either: most vegetation remains green. Fourth, when rivers and mountains are shrouded in mist in the mornings, you will witness a hazy landscape like Chinese ink paintings.

Upper: First, you are recommended to wear long-sleeved T-shirts as the innermost layer. Then, on sunny daytime, putting on sweaters or thermal hoodies on this basis can keep you warm. When night comes, however, you need to put on a down jacket. The clothes you wear at night are also suitable for cold rainy days. If you are not afraid of cold, you can also wear long-sleeved T-shirts plus 3-in-1 jackets with fleece inner layers during the cold moments.

Bottom: On sunny daytime, thick sweatpants or jeans are both OK. However, when the temperature decreases on rainy days or at night, you need to wear long johns or even thermal pants inside.

Shoes: Thick and comfortable sneakers or hiking shoes are both OK. Considering that there are some rainy days, you are advised to pack ones that are not easy to get dirty and non-slip. Long and thick socks can usefully keep your feet warm.
