Wuqiao Acrobatics World

Wuqiao, located in Cangzhou of southeast Hebei province, 320 kilometers (200 miles) south of Beijing and 220 kilometers (137 miles) east of Shijiazhuang, is the birthplace of Chinese acrobatics. The Acrobatics World in Wuqiao is the only acrobatics themed park in the world and the biggest folklore tourist attraction in China where you can see various acrobatics. There are 7 performing venues in Wuqiao Acrobatics World, two in the southern scenic area and five in the northern scenic area.

Rivers and Lakes Culture City- Various Acrobatics Performances

There are circuses, tricks, Qigong (a system of deep breathing exercise), Chinese opera, marionette show, raree show and training rats show. The acrobats wear Qing Dynasty (1644 – 1911 AD) costumes and speak in the language of the time. This will provide you with a cultural atmosphere of Old China from the late 19th century to the early 20th century. 
 

Acrobats perform here in turn, including Gao Fuzhou who can slice cabbage on the belly and split bricks with a single hand, Li Yinhuai who can swallow irony balls or swords, Guo Shutong who can train rats to perform folktales and Wei Chunhua who can support and rotate a vat weighing 180 kilograms (400 pounds) using only her legs, and more performances.

Funny Zoo- Acrobatics Performed by Animals

Here in the Funny Zoo of Wuqiao Acrobatics World, you can see tigers riding a horse, African lions crossing fire rings, elephants massaging, bears playing with a knife, goats walking on the steel wire, wolf dogs reading and monkeys riding a bicycle...
 

Acrobatics Museum

The museum in Wuqiao Acrobatics World consists of 9 exhibition halls showing the progressive history of China’s acrobatics. Visitors can enjoy a movie in the Red Peony Theater here telling the story of a famous acrobat, Sun Fuyou and his daughter.  
 

Red Peony Theater- A Large-scale Acrobatics Evening Show

This acrobatics show integrates modern sound, light, electricity and various high-technologies while telling the history of acrobatics with thousands of years from Huangdi time (2717 – 2599 BC) till today.
 

Guishou Theater: Performances by Skillfully Handed Wang Baofu

This is the place where the famous acrobat - Wang Baohe performs. Wang Baohe can let three small balls change their position in three cups secretly, thread a needle inside the mouth and shrink bones. His hands are so skillful that people reputed them as “ghosts’ hands”. 
 

Magic Palace - More Than 20 Magic Performances

There are magic performances like dividing human body into 3 parts, crossing steel plate, walking upside-down, fetching items from an empty bucket, creating people out of nothing, and escaping from the binding in Magic Palace of Wuqiao Acrobatics World.
 

Circus Amusement Park- Circus Performances  

You can see 16 horses running in the prairie stretching to the horizon while acrobats sometimes handstand on the horse, sometimes stand up on a horse or 2 horses and some other breathing-taking actions. You can also have a try with the help of the acrobats.
 

How to Tour Wuqiao Acrobatic World

The 7 performing venues are distributed in the southern and northern scenic areas of Wuqiao Acrobatic World. It is better to visit the southern part including Rivers and Lakes Culture City and Funny Zoo in the morning and the northern part including Acrobatics Museum, Red Peony Theater, Guishou Theater, Magic Palace and Circus Amusement Park in order in the afternoon. 
 

It takes about 1 day to tour Wuqiao Acrobatic World, 40 minutes in each venue except for Rivers and Lakes Culture City which need 3-4 hours. 
 

How to Get to Wuqiao Acrobatics World from Beijing

 1. Take a train to Wuqiao Railway Station which takes about 4.5 hours and then take a taxi to Wuqiao Acrobatics World which costs about CNY 6.

2. Take a long-distance bus from Zhaogongkou Long-distance Bus Station to Wuqiao Long-distance Bus Station. The bus departs at 08:00 and it takes about 3.5 hours on the way. Upon arrival, take a taxi to Wuqiao Acrobatics World which takes about CNY 6.
 

How to Get to Wuqiao Acrobatics World from Shijiazhuang

1. Take a train to Wuqiao Railway Station which takes about 3.5 hours and then take a taxi to get there.

2. Take a long-distance bus from Baifo Passenger Station to Wuqiao Long-distance Bus Station. The bus departs at 14:00, which takes about 4 hours, then take a taxi to reach your destination.

CNY 72 for children of 1.2 - 1.5 meters (3.9 - 4.9 feet).
Free for children below 1.2 meters (3.9 feet).
