Xinzheng is a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Zhengzhou City, the capital of Henan Province. Located in the hinterland of the central plains, it is the home town of the Chinese ancestor – Huangdi and one of the birthplaces of Chinese nation. It borders the downtown area of Zhengzhou on the north, Yuzhou City and Changge on the south, Xinmi City on the west. It is the core component of Zhengzhou Southern New City and Zhengzhou Airport Economy Zone. Huangdi Hometown, Xinzheng Museum, Garden Expo and other tourist attractions are worth travelling. Huangdi Hometown
Also known as Yellow Emperor Hometown, it is the birthplace of Huangdi who is the mythical ancestor of all Chinese people, and also the capital of his kingdom. Travelers can watch Huangdi Memorial Hall in the Ancestor Worship Area, visit Xuanyuan Temple and Xuanyuan Bridge. Travelers can also go to the Chinese Surname Square, more than 4,600 surnames with abstract auspicious clouds patterns are carved.

Xinzheng Museum
It is the largest museum with the largest collection of cultural relics among the county-level cities in China. Travelers can appreciate more than 60,000 pieces of relics including 17 categories such as bronzes, pottery, porcelain, stone carvings and bricks. There is also a Nami ivory fossil on show, which has a history of more than 500,000 years.

Garden Expo

Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport is about 45 km (28 mi) from the city center of Xinzheng. Travelers can take a flight first, and then take No.638 and No.2 Bus to Xinzheng. Travelers can also take trains to Xinzheng Railway Station which is only 6 km (3.7 mi) from the city center. Zhengzhou is about 50 km (30 mi) from Xinzheng, so travelers can choose to transfer in Zhengzhou. Travelers can take a bus at Zhengzhou South Passenger Transport Station, Zhengzhou Long-distance Bus Center, Zhengzhou North Passenger Transport Station or Zhengzhou Passenger Transport Station to Xinzheng. The whole journey takes about 1 hour, and the ticket fare is CNY5-20.

There is no metro within the city area. The public transportation is very convenient. The taxi charges CNY 6 for the first 2 km, and CNY 0.75/km for subsequent distance. The taxi charges CNY 50-60 from Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport, and CNY 10-15 from Xinzheng Railway Station to the city center.

Xinzheng Red Jujube
Xinzheng is the hometown of red jujube, and red jujube is the symbol of Xinzheng Henan. It has the effect of tonifying spleen. It is famous for its thin skin, thick pulp, small pit and sweet taste.

Dingjia Steamed Pork with Rice Flour
It is a traditional dish in Xinzheng with more than 120 years of history. It takes rice powder and pork as main material, pepper, green onion, and ginger as excipients. The steamed pork is fatty but not greasy, and full of aroma, which is very tempting.

Lianpeng Fish
It is a famous and popular dish in Xinzheng Henan and got the Chinese name “lianpeng” because it is like the seedpod of the lotus. Put stirred Shao wine, minced fish meat, egg whites and other ingredients into wine glasses which are coated with lard, and then put peanuts on them. Steam them, make the glasses upside down, and place the steamed fish meat neatly, and then put the prepared soup. It is not only delicious and fresh, but also rich in nutrition.
