Yichang Weather in February

In February, Yichang’s temperature gradually rises. Although the precipitation is low, Yichang climate in February is damp which lowers the sensitive temperatures, caused by its location by the Yangtze River and Three Gorges Dam.

If you are going to visit the Yangtze River and Three Gorges Dam, it’s advised to choose a sunny day. If it’s foggy, set off a bit late as it usually disperses by around 10:00. Disadvantages: As in the off season, some cruise ships are stopped. Moreover, the often foggy or cloudy weather stops travelers who aim to see and photograph the true appearance of the Three Gorges Dam. 

Advantages: It’s not the high season so you won’t encounter crowds and can enjoy your trip quietly. Besides, the Yangtze River is green and calm in dry season. As long as it’s sunny, you can take in the beautiful river scenery and grand man-made miracle. 
  Clothes: As morning and evenings may be chilly, it’s advised to prepare layers. A thick jacket or winter coat with a sweater are ideal tops during the day, and thicker clothing such as a down jacket is needed at night. On frigid days, you are suggested to add a thermal top as a base layer. For bottoms, fleece-lined sweatpants are advised. If you are cold-sensitive, add a thermal underwear. 

 Shoes: Waterproof sneakers keep you comfortable for hours of sightseeing, or you can opt for waterproof booties.

 Others: 
1. Rain gear is essential, as Yichang weather in February is unpredictable, with the possibility of both rain and snow. A raincoat or waterproof jacket is a choice if you don’t want to hold an umbrella.
