Light rain always continues throughout the day, occasionally turning to moderate or heavy rain in the afternoon or evening. June also sees one or two brief bursts of heavy rainfall accompanied by gusty winds, which quickly change to a drizzle. Areas along the river, such as Yiling District, home to the Three Gorges Dam, experience slightly more rainfall. While frequent rain may bring a cooling effect, it’s not obvious with a slight temperature fall of 3 - 5°C (37 - 41℉), and the effect is not long-lasting. 

Yichang’s humidity in June is strongly correlated with rain. The humidity hovers above 80% on most days and goes beyond 90% in continuous rain, making clothes easily get moldy. Riverside areas (such as the Three Gorges Dam) experience humidity levels 5%-8% higher due to their proximity to the water. Due to high humidity, the sensitive temperature is generally 3-6°C (37-43℉) higher. The sensation of heat and humidity is so pronounced that even standing in the shade can make you feel clammy and sweltering.

Sunny days are rare in Yichang in June. With a dozen days of rainy weather, Yichang’s daylight hours in June are only about 5 hours per day on average. Fog is common after or before rain, making it even more challenging for sightseeing.

 Absolutely not, especially after mid-June. High temperatures, high humidity, and rainy weather all contribute to a dissuading of tourists. The continuous rain and fog make it impossible for visitors to fully appreciate the Three Gorges Dam and Yangtze River scenery. On overcast days, clouds cast a dark shadow over the river and mountains, making it less attracting.

If you insist on traveling in June, then the advice and recommendation below may be helpful.
  Clothes: June’s high humidity creates a sticky feeling, so outfits should be moisture-resistant and quick-drying. Short-sleeved T-shirt is the best for tops. Bring a light jacket to protect against the sun rays of the sunny days. Light trousers or athletic shorts are sufficient for bottoms.

 Shoes: The steps in the scenic area can be slippery in the rain, so choose waterproof, non-slip sneakers and avoid mesh shoes or sandals.

 Others: A quick-drying baseball cap protects you against drizzles and intermittent sunlight. Also pack an umbrella. 
 The Qu Yuan Hometown Cultural Tourism Area in Zigui County of Yichang is the birthplace of Dragon Boat Festival culture. During the festival, visitors can not only watch the annual dragon boat races, but participate in local people’s memorial activities for the patriotic poet Qu Yuan, watch folk performances, and experience Dragon Boat Festival customs such as wrapping zongzi (sticky rice dumplings) and hanging wormwood branches.
