The 2009 Spring Outing to Zhaoling Mausoleum
Place: Zhaoling Mausoleum, Zhaoling Museum, Yuanjia Village

On April 10 and 13, the staff of TravelChinaGuide (abbr.TCG) went on a spring outing in two groups. We visited the Zhaoling Mausoleum, Zhaoling Musuem and Yuanjia Village in Liquan County in Shaanxi's Xianyang City and also enjoyed the local "peasant family dish" there.

Early in the morning, the company's bus drove everyone to the first destination – Zhaoling Mausoleum. It is the mausoleum of Li Shimin, Emperor Taizong of Tang Dynasty (618-907). We climbed the small hill behind the tombstone and enjoyed the copy of the famous stone inscriptions "Six Stone Steeds". About two hours later, we headed for the next destination – Zhaoling Museum. The museum is only a half hour's drive from Zhaoling Mausoleum. It well keeps many precious cultural relics excavated from the accompanying tombs of Zhaoling Mausoleum. The TCG working staff have extended the knowledge of Tang Dynasty by the visit. Left the museum, we moved on the last destination – Yuanjia Village. It was a small tourist village that shows the folk customs in Shaanxi Province. We had a good meal at one of the farmhouses in the village. The dishes were all cooked from the vegetables that fresh from the master's garden. After the meal, we came in flocks to see this folk culture village.
The trip was memorable to everyone. It is a good chance to get relaxed. Also, like the famous saying goes, "Read ten thousand books, travel ten thousand miles", TCG always believes that he that travels far knows much, and we also wish our distinguished guests could gain some knowledge of China and Chinese people through the tour packages that elaborated made by us.
New Version of 'China Pictures' Online

TravelChinaGuide has finalized the renovating project of the China Pictures column. Over the past few years, our picture gallery has grown much larger. We decided to redesign this column to show more beautiful pictures we took and collected. The new version you can see now has a clearer layout and richer content. The master page contains all the portals to each picture category, bring spotlights onto China's top attractions and travel destinations. In addition, an album showing China's unique features are added too, such as panda, Chinese wedding, calligraphy, Chinese medicine, etc.

Business Visit to Shandong

Top company executives went to Shandong in the last few days of this month for business purpose. The business visit mainly covered Qingdao and Mt. Taishan areas, paying particular attention to investigating further tourist attractions, business negotiation and cooperation. The team returned with many pictures shot on the spot and substantial supporting information concerning the website construction, business development and plans for new tour itineraries.

2009 Annual Banquet and Awards Ceremony

TravelChinaGuide held the annual company get-together on January 20 before the Spring Festival to celebrate the coming Chinese New Year. The party began with an inspiring speech by the manager, reviewing the past year of 2008 together with the entire staff team and announcing plans for 2009. Then came the awards ceremony to staff members who made great effort and prominent achievement in the past year. Model employees were selected from each department and given the prize and award certificate as a compliment and encouragement. The happy prelude was followed a hearty dinner during which all the colleagues toasted and gave best wishes to each other. This is a rare chance coming once in a year for the entire company to gather together. That is where all of us TCG members bid farewell to the old year and start to bring hope and high spirits into the new one.
