Yantian Port

Opened in 1994, Yantian Port has developed into an important international container terminal in South China and one of the top four deep-water ports for international cargo ships in China. With deep water, calm sea and without silting, it is a rare good natural harbor which allows large ships to enter and exit freely. Currently, it serves about 100 ships every week from over 40 well-known international shipping companies, and European and American routes account for about 60 percent, making it the world’s largest port with the best benefits.

 Location: Yantian Port is in the south of Dapeng Bay, Yantian District, North of Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province. The distance to Shenzhen is about 26 kilometers (16 miles) and that to Huizhou is about 72 kilometers (45 miles).
 

Ship Routes

There are about 87 ship routes in total. Among them, 29 routes are to/from North America, 17 to/from Asia, 14 to/from Europe, 5 to/from Mediterranean, 4 to/from South America and 3 to/from Australia. Also, 14 lighters travel between Yantian Port and other ports in Guangdong & Hong Kong and 1 HK express ship runs between Yantian Port and Hong Kong each day. Capacity

Yantian Port is composed of middle area, west area and east area. Now, the middle area and part of west area have been put into use with 20 container berths and 3 multi-functional berths. The water depth has reached 17.4 meters (57 feet) which is available for large container ships of 200,000 tons. The east area is still in the plan, and it will have 1 container-berth of 100,000 tons, 1 of 150,000 tons and 6 of 200,000 tons. According to the plan, the number of container berths will be up to 27 – 29, the total length of frontage about 10,173 meters (11,125 yards) and the throughput about 18 – 20 million TEU in 2020.
 

Facilities & Services

Convenient Exterior Transport System

From the open date of the port to today, 4 highways to Shenzhen & Huizhou, 4 tunnels, 3 flyovers and 1 railway have been built to serve the increasing throughput of Yantian Port.
 

Tugboats

In Yantian Port, there are 15 shuttle propeller tugboats which ranks first in Shenzhen. Among them, there are 2 of 6,000 HP, 2 of 5,000 HP, 7 of 4,000 HP, 4 of 3,000 HP and 1 luxury vessel of 80 seats.
 

Freight Handling Facilities

The 6 shore cranes equipped in phase one have an outreach of 42 meters (46 yards) and a biggest lifting weight of 41 tons. Also, there are 8 yard cranes, 5 container fork lifts, 37 container tractors and 52 semi-trailers. In the phase two, 14 shore cranes with an outreach of 45 meters (49 yards) and a biggest lifting weight of 41 tons, 28 yard cranes, 8 container fork lifts, 60 container tractors and 80 semi-trailers are equipped.
 

Storage

The whole storage yard is 1,180,000 sq. m. (1,411,268 sq. yd.) and the warehouse of phase two only reaches 30,000 sq. m. (35,880 sq. yd.).
 

Yantian Harbor Free Trade Logistics Park

Covering an area of 200,000 square meters (239,198 sq. yd.), it has been the largest logistic center in China and consists of 7 warehouses of 4 – 5 floors and 3 connecting passages. All goods here can go to their designated area via the passage. The operation time is 24 hours.
 

How to Get to Yantian Port

Take city bus line 68, 85, 103, 205, 308, 358, 387, E26, NE26, M191, M314, M362, M437, M444, M520, B619, B924, B961 or B982 and get off at Haigang Building.
