 The hot climate of Jinan in June is the biggest stumbling block. Burning sunshine would steal all of your energy and patience. 4 - 5 bottles of water are needed to keep yourself hydrated during the outdoor activities. Although Jinan has the longest day in June, the valid time for sightseeing is not generous if excluding the scorching time periods around noon.

Daming Lake is the best place to see the special summer flower. The lake surface is covered with seas of lotus leaves decorated with lotus flowers in June and black swans are swimming among them. The best time to appreciate them is at dawn when the lake surface is dyed golden by the setting sun. After, Chaoran Pavilion is lit up at twilight, when is the right time for the night views.

 Play Water at Various Spring Parks
Baotu Spring Park, Wulongtan Park and Black Tiger Spring Park set water play areas for visitors and are always the family staple during summer months. Wulongtan is the most popular one for its biggest playing area and free entrance. Even though the city is scorched by the sun, the and clear spring water helps cool you down rapidly; and unlike playing in the sea water, rinsing off is not needed. It’s the best activity in summer of Jinan to entertain your chirpy kids and yourself. 
 1. Avoid the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, which in 2026 falls in 19-21, as accommodation prices are much higher and scenic spots are packed with tourists.

2. Remember to bring a spare set of clothes if you plan to play water in the spring parks. Water toys such as water guns and fishing nets are available for purchase at the park. It’s not advisable to go barefoot into the pools, since some areas are slippery and you could easily fall.
