Jinan climate in August is characterized by heavy, frequent and intense rainfall which always comes together with thunderstorms and strong winds and easily drenches the streets. There are more than 10 rainy days, sometimes with 2 - 3 consecutive days of showers. Significant rainfall sometimes reaches half of the annual total, resulting in higher humidity on rainy days. On clear days, it’s pretty dry, unlike the continuous dampness in the rainy season of southern cities.

Rainfall in Jinan is mostly regional. Weather forecasts report rainy days if any of areas rain, so don’t let frequent rain deter you. The rain is usually intermittent and won’t disrupt your itinerary. If you encounter heavy rain, find shelter nearby and you can continue your journey soon after.

It’s not the best month with finest weather like April but can be a good option. If you are not deterred by hot temperatures, the cool and gushing springs welcome you vibrantly. Although the beginning experiences the heat left over from the hottest July, the lower temperatures in late August make it not worth calling a summer month, so try to plan a trip at the end of August.
