So, it’s not worthy investing your precious travel time and money in such a freezing city with everything withering to bet on unpredictable snow views. 

In winter, the water level of Baotu Spring drops, and it gushes just slightly. The trees and flowers in the park wither, greatly diminishing the scenery. In addition, strong winds and dry weather are common, and some visitors may even experience nosebleeds due to excessive dryness in their nasal passages.
 

What to Wear in Jinan in December?

 Clothes: Dress in layers to beat the bitter cold. A down coat should be the outermost layer. Overly thick sweaters overheat you indoors so pack light and thermal underwear. Don’t ignore your lower body. Pants with fleece and thermal leggings are essential in the gusty weather. 

 Shoes: Insulated boots or snow boots are the best to keep your toes warm.

 Others: A beanie, a scarf, a pair of gloves and facemasks are the essentials to protect yourself from the chilly winds. Lip balm and body lotion are useful in the dry season.
 

Where to Go in Jinan in December?

If you are impervious to the cold or you come from a city experiencing frigid winter, Jinan has its warm and clear spring waters awaiting your arrival in the gelid winter. If you are lucky enough to encounter with a snowfall, the city never makes you disappointed. 

The Baotu Spring, with its year-round temperature of 18°C, steams up white mist in the frigid air, and melts falling snowflakes. The Chaoran Tower on Daming Lake is capped with snow, and withered lotus leaves and branches are draped in silver, creating a picturesque scene. Food stalls expelling the smell of local snacks are scattered throughout Qushuiting Street and are surrounded by diners waiting in the snow for their delicacy. After long time outdoor activities, Shandong Provincial Museum can be a warm shelter for you. You cannot miss a cultural journey in this historical city. 
 

Travel Tips

The road along the spring waters would be icy and slippery, so try to wear non-slip shoes.
