October and November are the high flow period for Baotu Spring, when the spring water gushes out most vigorously. The spring park is also decorated with thriving colors in autumn: yellow ginkgo leaves, red maple leaves and blooming Chrysanthemum of white, gold, purple, pink, green … you name it. Ginkgo leaves carpet the stone paths, chrysanthemums bloom along the spring, and the red leaves in Wanzhu Garden are particularly eye-catching. In autumn, Baotu Spring Park offers a picturesque scene at every turn, a true palette of nature.

A short hiking trip is the best way to explore the Buddhist mountain wearing autumn fineries in late October. The foot path on the ridge offers the best view of red leaves all over the mountainside. During sunset, you may have the the bird view of the city under the red sunset glow and clouds on the mountaintop. Also, there is the red leaves corridor with a length of 400m (440ft) near the south gate for photography. 
 

Travel Tip

National Day Holiday is absolutely the not-go time. The influx of tourists may strain hotels to the limit and add to the chaotic conditions of the overcrowded scenic spots. In 2026, it falls in October 1st to 7th.
