The west section runs from Xunfenggang to Guangzhou Gymnasium, and the east section runs from Ersha Island to Higher Education Mega Center South. It is expected to stretch from northwest to southeast for nearly 37.6 km (23.4 mi), being one of the diagonals of the Guangzhou metro system.
