Me and Travel

Since my father is an enthusiast of traveling, I guess my love of travel is inherited from him. I have been to many places in China. I admired the vast sea and magnificent Shanhaiguan Great Wall in Qinhuangdao, Hebei Province when I was a primary student. During a May Day Holiday when I was studying in middle school, my family went on a self-driving trip to Sichuan Province. We went to Jiuzhaigou, a must-see spot in Sichuan. I was stunned by the colorful water and rolling mountains there. In the vacation before I went to college, I visited Lijiang Old Town, where I was immersed into the distinctive culture of ethnic minorities and felt how peaceful life could be.

I think the best part of life should be travel. During the journey, you can see numerous scenes representing their own features; learn various cultures and customs of different regions; feel a new world opening in front of you gradually, which is the most beautiful feeling travel brings to me. I believe my fascination for travel is going to last forever. If you feel the same way as I do, I'm willing to share my travel stories with you!

Welcome to My Hometown - Qishan County

I come from Qishan County, to the west of the hometown of Terracotta Army, Xi'an. Qishan is a small county but has over 2,500 years' history and an immense cultural atmosphere. This county is said to be the living place of Yandi, one of the earliest ancestors of Chinese people, and the origin of the culture of Zhou Dynasty (1046 - 256 BC), the root of Chinese culture. The long history has endowed Qishan with many precious relics. The most famous spots are Zhougong Temple, in memory of Lord Zhou who assisted King Wu overturned the Shang Dynasty (17th century - 1046 BC), and Zhouyuan Site, the earliest capital of the Zhou Dynasty where a lot of rare bronze wares were unearthed, winning Qishan a reputation of 'the Hometown of Bronze Ware'.

Besides the historical sites to enjoy the cultural atmosphere of Qishan County, you can also feast your stomach with delicious local cuisines. Wheat is the major crop of Qishan, so flour is the main ingredient of Qishan Food. Qishan people are very capable of making flour into various kinds of cuisines, such as noodles, steamed buns, and desserts. Of these, the most popular one is Saozi Noodle, a kind of soup noodle covered by minced meat called Saozi which is fried with seasonings, peppers and vinegar. Usually, each bowl contains one mouthful of noodles. So, when you finally feel full, you may not believe how many bowls of noodles you have eaten.

You are warmly welcomed to visit Qishan, my hometown. I believe you will have much fun here.
