Day 1 Arrive in Beijing
Sincere greetings & airport-hotel transfer.
Upon your arrival, our guide will be waiting for you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel. The rest of the day is free. You can rest in the hotel, or just go around getting familiar with the surroundings. The hotel we arrange for you has a swimming pool, so you and your kids can enjoy swimming there.

Day 2 Beijing
Temple of Heaven (including making and flying kite), A la carte lunch, Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City. (B+L)

After breakfast, our guide will take you to visit the Temple of Heaven. It used to be the imperial temple to pray for a good harvest. You and your kids will be attracted by the Echoing Wall inside, which is so mysterious. Then you will drop by a kites shop. Kites have a history over two thousands of years, and kite making is an old and skilled craft in China. You and your children can learn kite making there; the whole process may take about one hour. The finished kites can be taken away. And then you can fly it in the Temple of Heaven and enjoy this amazing moment.

After this, it's lunch time. A special a la carte lunch (valued at CNY150.00 per person and included in our price) will be arranged in a popular restaurant, where you and your family can have a taste of Chinese food according to your own taste. Towards afternoon, we will go to Tiananmen Square, the largest city center square in the world. Then stroll to the Forbidden City, a typical splendid imperial palace. Sightseeing in these two places enables your children to learn more about the history and culture of China.

Day 3 Beijing
Mutianyu Great Wall, Sacred Way, Bird's Nest (drive by). (B)
This morning we will visit Mutianyu Great wall, which is a well-preserved section of the Great Wall, with majestic and splendid scenery but less crowded. The natural landscape around is enchanting, which makes your family get closer to nature. The round trip cable car is included, so the challenge of hiking is appropriate. We are sorry that the lunch today is not arranged, for the restaurants nearby are in poor quality. You are recommended to have a big meal at breakfast and pack up some snacks for lunch. Afterwards, we will go to the Sacred Way, which is a main passage leading to the Ming Tombs complex. There are a lot of vivid carvings along the road, which is a good place for a relaxing wander. On the way back to the hotel, we will pass by the Bird's Nest(National Stadium) for a photo stop.

Day 4 Beijing
Pandas in Beijing Zoo, Summer Palace, Lama Temple, Hutong alleys. (B)
Our family group visiting the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Xian
After breakfast, we will go to the Summer Palace, which is a beautiful imperial garden in Beijing. Strolling inside the garden, our guide will tell you interesting historical stories behind this garden. If the weather is fine, you can row a boat in Kunming Lake with your family. Then, we will head to Beijing Zoo, where you can view the Chinese national treasure, giant pandas. Besides, there are also many other rare animals inhabiting the zoo, where you and your children can explore the natural fun together. After visiting the Lama Temple, we will trace the local people's life in the Hutong alleys, and you can take the old rickshaw shuttling between these alleys. Today's private sightseeing schedule comes to an end now, but you can still continue your journey by your own. Go shopping in the nearby markets and commercial streets, or just rest, swim and enjoy coffee in the hotel.

Day 5 Beijing - Xian
A high speed train to Xian. Railway station to hotel transfer, Big Wild Goose Pagoda Square. (B)
Today, our Beijing local guide will see you off. You will leave for Xian by rail, which enables you and your children to experience the safe, fast and comfortable high-speed train. It takes about 5 hours to reach Xian, and our guide will pick you up at the North Railway Station and drive you to your hotel. Take a short rest, we will go to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda Square, a Tang Dynasty Culture themed square. If time allows, you can have a chance to witness the fantastic music fountain show there, and then we go back to the hotel.

Day 6 Xian
Terracotta Army Museum, Great Mosque, Muslim Street. (B)
Xian ancient City Wall
Today's private journey begins with the Terra Cotta Warriors. As the world largest underground military museum, it is a must see of Xian city. There are a lot of life-size pottery figures arraying in the pit, wearing different facial expressions. You might find one like you with careful observation. Finishing the sightseeing, our guide will take you to a pottery workshop. If you are interested, you can make pottery ware by your own. The lunch is arranged by yourself, and you can turn to our guide for advice. In the afternoon, the guide will accompany you to visit the Great Mosque. First built in 742, it is still a religious site in service now. Go through the nearby Muslim Street, where there are a lot of restaurants and shops around. You and children can select some souvenirs for this memorable trip.

Day 7 Xian - Shanghai
City Wall(including riding bicycle), A local family visit and home-cooked lunch. Fly to Shanghai. Airport-hotel transfer. (B+L)
We will visit the City Wall in the morning. First built during 1374-1378, it is the best-preserved ancient City Wall in the world. On the wall, you can cycle around, which is cool and amazing. Afterwards, we will drop by a local family and have our lunch (valued at CNY120.00 per person and included in our price) there. Apart from experiencing their daily life, you can learn cooking Chinese dishes or making dumplings. If it happens to be at weekends, your children can play together with the host's son. In the afternoon, our Xian guide will escort you to the airport for a flight to Shanghai. Our Shanghai guide will wait for you in the airport in advance, and then take you to the hotel for rest.

Day 8 Shanghai
World Financial Center, Shanghai Ocean aquarium, A la carte lunch, Shanghai Museum, the Bund, an acrobatic show. (B+L)
Shanghai Bund
After breakfast, we are scheduled to visit the 100-story World Financial Center. On the top of the building, you can have a panorama view of the whole city. Afterwards, continue our journey to the Ocean Aquarium, where you and your children can view a lot of rare species, such as archerfish, penguin and Leafy Sea Dragon. You can explore the natural wonder with your kids. At noon, we will arrange an a la carte lunch (valued at CNY150.00 per person and included in our price) for you, in a quality local restaurant with great atmosphere.

After a short rest, follow our guide, you will visit Shanghai Museum, where you can have a general understanding of China's history and culture. Abundant relics enable you to sense the wisdom of the ancient people. Then we will take a relaxing stroll along the Bund, enjoying the unique style of building complex. In the evening, an amazing acrobatic show will be arranged for you. Wish you a fun night!

Day 9 Departure from Shanghai
Yu Garden, Yuyuan market. Airport transfer & farewell. A nice journey home! (B)
In the morning, we will head to the Yu Garden first. It used to be a grand private garden owned by a celebrity in the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644), which features for its smart design and delicacy. There are thousands of masterpieces left by poets, painters and scholars. There you and your kids will bathe in the sea of profound culture. Then we will take you to the nearby market, where you can buy some craft works, souvenirs and other gadgets. In the afternoon, our guide will see you off in the airport. Wish you a safe journey home!

Option of either 6 days in Beijing or 3 in Beijing and 3 in Shijiazhuang. Suggestions?

Yes, I think 3 days in Beijing and 3 days in Shijiazhuang is more suitable. In addition, 3 days are enough for you to tour around major attractions in Beijing. Have a nice journey!

Dear all, I shall be arriving at PVG at 00:35, how could I get to Shanghai Railway station??

You can take shuttle bus night line to East Yan'an Road Middle Zhejiang Road. Then Shanghai Railway Station is within 4km away. You can take a taxi to get there.
