How to Travel Between Guilin and Longsheng

Guilin as a provincial capital and Longsheng as a town both belong to Guangxi province, and the distance from Guilin to Longsheng is about 110 kilometers (69 miles) in all. Since Longsheng is in the mountainous area, the transportation is limited. For no railway station in Longsheng, the best way to travel between the two cities is to take long-distance bus, which takes 1.5 – 4 hours and CNY 25 – 56. Taking a taxi is much more convenient for 3.5 hours, but the price is correspondingly higher as CNY 200 – 300. Also within the main scenic spots, traveling by foot is popular there that one can appreciate the beautiful and unique scenery on the way.

 Alternatively, passengers can choose to travel by car, but it usually requires passengers to negotiate the destination, route and price with the driver before. Foreign visitors can also download the Hailing Car Apps popular in China such as Didi and Caocao to make an order ahead of time.
 There is no direct shuttle bus from Guilin Liangjiang International Airport to Longji Rice Terraces. Passengers need to get to available bus stations in Guilin and take a long-distance bus there to get to Jinkeng Rice Terraces Station. So tourists need to take a taxi at first to Guilin Northern Passenger Station, Qintan Bus Station, Guilin Railway Station or North of Guilin Railway Station, the price and duration depending on running distance.

Or, passengers can choose to charter a car or taxi from the airport to Longji Rice Terraces directly, which takes about CNY 200 totally.

 Similarly, passengers are recommended to take a long-distance bus at the terraces to Guilin city, then take a taxi to the airport, which is the most economical and favorable way at present. But if you are in a hurry to get to the airport, it’s suggested to hail a taxi and make a deal in advance so as to not delay the trip.
