Is there any one knows if we can change ticket to a later train after train time?
If we cannot manage to back to Qinhuangdao station in time to catch the booked train, is it still possible to take a later one?

Yes, I read on this website about it. Ticket can still be changed after original departure time but only to other later one on the same day. You can change it to other ticket with same price without extra cost at station.

The ticket availability online should be the same as station, so I think there is very little chance of getting a seat from station unless someone happened to cancel a ticket. But you may consider to buy a ticket to Jinzhou South and get off at Qinhuangdao. It seems there are still tickets to Jinzhou South offered.

There is any difference between the D and G trains?
The second class seat ticket price is doubled on G trains.

The seat type and service is not so different, it is just the route. They run for different route and usually G type is a little faster. The running route and speed caused the difference of price. Personally speaking, I think D type is more economy considering the duration difference.
