How to Enter Mainland China from West Kowloon Station

The cooperation immigration check model is used in West Kowloon Station. That means passengers only need to clear immigration in Hong Kong West Kowloon Station and there is no need to go through customs in Guangzhou any more. This immigration clearance procedure makes the trip much simpler and largely saves visitors’ time.

Passengers can book train tickets on line or purchase them at the B1 level. After that, they need to reach the Hong Kong Port at B3 level to handle the exit procedures and then move forward to Mainland China Port on the same floor in order to handle entry procedures. Having finished these procedures, they can go down to the B4 level and take trains leaving Hong Kong finally.

Ticket Change and Refund

1. As for ticket change, each ticket is subject to change of date, train number and class only once at no additional charge. However, neither the departure station nor the arrival station can be changed.
2. The ticket change should be done at least 45 minutes in advance in West Kowloon Station and 30 minutes ahead in Guangzhou South/ East Station.
3. If the ticket price after the change is higher than the original fare, the difference shall be made up; if the ticket price is lower than the original one, the difference will be refunded.
4. A ticket can only be changed once and the changed tickets are non-refundable. The earlier the ticket is refunded, the more passengers will get back.

To take advantage of the 144-hour visa free travel, you need to fly into Guangzhou from HK. If travel by train, you need to apply for a visa in advance.

The high speed trains are powered by electricity and there is no CO2 emissions. If all 100,000 passengers take the high-speed train daily instead of cross-boundary buses, about 4,700 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions will be reduced annually.

Thank you for your inquiry.

Train station in HK is not in service at this time. If you booked ticket online, you can contact the website you used for booking for refund. If you have paper ticket in hand already, you can go to the station after its operation and ticket can be fully refunded even after 90 days of the operation.
