HK to SH to GZ - Platform change time
Hello,

I noticed it is cheaper to buy separate tickets from Hong Kong to Shenzhen (Futian) and then from Shenzhen (Futian) to Guangzhou. How much time should I allow for the next scheduled train or how long does it take to switch platforms? I see there are trains scheduled 20 mins (to leave to GZ after arriving in Shenzhen (from HK), is that enough?

It's required to leave at least 45 minutes for the transfer. There is a transfer channel; just follow the direction signs to transfer quickly.

Thank you for your inquiry.

We are sorry that the destination for HK trip cannot be changed. However, you can cancel the old tickets and buy new tickets instead. Or if the train you booked also have a stop in Shenzhen, you can get off there in advance before reaching HK. If you booked ticket with us, you may contact us by email for cancellation request. Thank you.

If I miss the train from Guangzhou to HK, will I be able to take the next one instead?
What should I do at the station for changing trains? Do I need to get some document or just go to a later one directly?

Thank you for your inquiry.

However, we are sorry to inform you that if you miss the train, the ticket is useless. Different from other routes within China Mainland, for this trip in and out of HK, the ticket can only be changed 30 to 60min before departure time at the station ticket counter. After that, the ticket cannot be changed or cancelled. Hope for your advanced notice!

First class seats are more comfortable with larger leg space. There are only 4 seats in each row, two on each side. The second class seat is economy type but still acceptable. There are 5 seats in each row in the 3+2 form.
