Beijing-Hong Kong Train

The Beijing-Hong Kong through trains are a pair of overnight sleeper trains running between Beijing West Railway Station and Hong Kong Hung Hom Railway Station every other day. The whole journey, 1,538 miles (2,475km) long, takes about 24 hours.

The stopovers along the way include Zhengzhou, Wuchang, Changsha, and Guangzhou East stations within Mainland China, and passengers can get on and off at these stations. However, passengers traveling through between the two cities should have their travel documents (ticket, valid passport, and visa) checked at the Entry and Exit Office at Beijing West or Hung Hom stations, and are not allowed to get off the coach on the way.

Passengers are advised to get to Hung Hom Station 45 minutes in advance of the departure time for the exit formalities. The boarding gates close 10 minutes before departure from Hung Hom station.

From Beijing West Station, passengers should enter from the Immigration Inspection Hall and get on board after the check. The hall is located at the right side of the entrance. The waiting area opens 120 minutes before departure; customs examination begins 90 minutes before scheduled departure time; the boarding gate closes 20 minutes before departure. Thus, passengers are advised to arrive at the station at least 1.5 hours in advance.
