Generally speaking, Beijing's February weather is warmer than January, but it is still the winter season. What to Wear in Beijing in February

Beijing climate in February is still cold but much warmer than January especially on a sunny afternoon, so a common sweater plus a cotton-padded jacket will be almost enough in the urban areas. However, if you will go to the suburban areas, such as the Badaling Great Wall, down jacket, thick woolen sweater, gloves, hat, scarf will be still necessary.

The ski season usually lasts until the end of this month, so ski resorts are still highly recommended at this time.

At the same time, the Grand Summons Ceremony held at Yonghe Temple is also a choice for visitors.

Other Tips

It is dry with cold wind during this time, so drink enough water and use skin care when going outside. Due to the winter vacation and Spring Festival, you had better arrange your itinerary months in advance in case that your schedule is spoiled or delayed by the Spring Festival Travel Rush.

It is hard to say, but generally there will be snow from December to February on the Great Wall.

First visit to Beijing 1st-4th February 2018

I will be in Beijing for 72 hours from 1 February 2018 when I return from Singapore. Will it be very cold?
Will the air pollution be a huge problem? What precautions can I take?
What is the best day to visit - I have a choice between Friday 2nd February and Saturday 3rd February? One day I will visit the Great Wall and the other day I would like to visit the Forbidden City & Tiananmen Square. I fly home to UK on Sunday.

It will be cold and there may be some air pollution, so you need to take your masks and warm clothes.
I don’t think there is much difference between 2nd and 3rd, so both days are okay to wander around.

You can go to these ski resorts around the city to see snow and enjoy skiing at the same time. Here are two for reference:
Jundushan Ski Resort: Zhenshun Village, Cuicun Town, Changping District;
Nanshan Ski Resort: 3.5 miles south of Miyun District.

Thanks for your info. How about Badaling Resort, can I visit that place end of feb ?
Because I want to see great wall and it seems near to Badaling Resort

Badaling resort is not as well as the recommended ones. It was opened earlier, so the facilities are older. But as you say, it is closer to the Wall.

For the first-time visitor, Badaling Great Wall is recommended. It is the most famous section of the country and you can surely have a unforgettable experience.
You can take bus no. 877 from Deshengmen in downtown area to go directly to Badaling in around 1h. Avoid going there in holidays, as there might be a lot of visitors there.

The temperature may range from 20 F to 45 F in the end of February. According to the pervious records, the possibility of snow would be low. Although there may have several sunny days, the climate would still be chilly cold. You need to bring enough winter clothes, like down jackets, sweaters, long johns, boots, pants and gloves.
