Zhengzhou Transportation

Nestled in central China, Zhengzhou is the capital city of Henan Province. It is an important transport hub for air lines, rails and highways in China so that flight, train and long-distance bus services are all very convenient in the city. In addition, Zhengzhou hosts some historical and cultural scenic spots. Easy travels with these means of transportation bring a large number of tourists. The convenient city-buses, taxis and metro lines also satisfied many tourists. If you would like to tour the surrounding areas/cities, the intercity trains and buses are of great help.

Air

Xinzheng International Airport was put into use in 1997. Around 16mi (25km) from the city center, it now operates more than 160 air routes. Over 1,400 flights land and take off from the airport every week. Flights for many cities of China are available here, such as Beijing, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Guilin, Haikou, Shanghai and Shenzhen. Passengers can also directly fly to Hong Kong and Macau for a good trip.
 Airport Shuttle Buses
Located at the crossing of Beijing-Guangzhou Railway Line and Lianyungang-Lanzhou Railway Line, Zhengzhou is one of the most important railway hinges in China to be regarded as the heart of China Rail System. There are five railway stations in the city: Zhengzhou Station, East Station, West Station and South Station (under construction) are high-speed ones and the former two are for both passenger and cargo transport; North Station is for freight only.
Zhengzhou Railway Station                 East Railway Station
As one of the seven highway transport hubs in China, Zhengzhou has very convenient long-distance bus facilities. There are around 10 long-distance bus stations for passengers' convenience. One can have an easy access to a city in Henan Province or an inter-province destination like Beijing, Shanghai and Xi'an.
Currently, three Zhengzhou metro lines are in service: line 1 runs between Henan University of Technology and New Campus of Henan University. It passes the Main Railway Station and East Railway Station. Line 2 connects Liuzhuang and Nansihuan and passes 16 stations. Chengjiao Line links Nansihuan and Xinzheng International Airport. In addition, the extension line of line 2, and line 5 are under construction. As planned, 21 metro lines will operate in the city by 2050, linking the urban and suburban areas.
See metro maps for reference.
The city has 238 bus routes and almost 5,300 buses are used to serve the locals and all travelers. Regular daytime buses, overnight buses and tourist buses are available to meet the different needs.
 Bus Search
Almost 11,000 taxis are equipped in the city. Passengers can easily catch a taxi anywhere including the airport and railway stations. The flag-down rate is CNY8 for the first 2km (1.2mi) in the daytime and CNY10 between 22:00 to 06:00 the next day. Drivers usually charge by meter. But if you would like to go to a nearby city, they may ask for flat rate or you can have a negotiated rate.

Take a bullet train from BJ West to ZZ East railway station and it takes 2.5 – 3.5h. After arrival, take a bus from the bus station near the east station to Songchenglu Bus Station in Kaifeng and take a taxi to the university.

็How can I go to Dehua street, Erqi from Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport after midnight?
Is there a taxi or a night bus available at the airport after midnight and before 5am? My flight will arrive at 11.55pm at the airport and I will need to go to Guangdong hotel located on Dehua street, Erqi district, which, I believe, is quite in the center. If there's a taxi available during that period, is there a possibility that the driver will refuse to take me to the hotel?

Don’t worry! You can still take shuttle bus to the local long-distance bus station at that time. The bus station is about 300m southwest of your hotel, so you can walk there after getting off the bus.

Thank you so much! Your answer is very helpful! By the way, do I need to take any specific bus number? Or it could be any bus that goes to downtown?
