Hohhot metro is planned to have 5 lines according to the preliminary plan, while metro line 1 & line 2 will operate in 2019 and 2020. These metro lines will go through the important transportation hubs, including East Railway Station, Hohhot Railway Station, Wanda Plaza and Xinhua Square, which will make a great contribution to the passenger transportation in the city.

City-bus

Currently, there are about 60 bus lines opened in Hohhot City, which can reach to the city's every corner. Most of them have no conductor, so you are required to prepare CNY1 before getting on. On the other hand, the mini buses with conductors often charge by distance, costing around CNY1.5.

Thanks Vivian. How about the frequency of buses from Erlian back, do you also know? I'm planning to cross the border from Mongolia to Erlian in the morning, then take the bus to Hohhot on the same day so I can catch the 9 PM overnight train from Hohhot to Dalian.

From Luohu Station, take the subway Luobao line, via 3 stops, to Dajuyuan (Grand Theater) Station. Take the Exit C and walk eastwards for 300 yards, you will reach the South Baoan Road.

Well, you can walk to the West Square of Luohu Railway Station, where you can take the bus No. 321 or 18 to Xihu Hotel. Then walk southwards about 140 yards, you will reach your hotel.

If taking the subway, you can take the Luobao Line to Grand Theater Station. Take the Exit D and walk northwards along the South Baoan Road for 0.8 miles to the hotel.

Most of routes has the same schedule: the first bus in 07:00, the last bus in 20:00. But there are also some specialties, they runs from 06:10 to 21:00. You’d better check the specific route you’ll take when you reach in the city.
