How to Buy Terracotta Warriors Tickets
Four ways for visitors to buy Terracotta Army Tickets
1. Book through the official website of the Terracotta Army
Tickets can be booked up to 7 days in advance through the official website or WeChat account of the Emperor Qinshihuang's Mausoleum Site Museum. When purchasing tickets, follow the instructions to select your visiting date, time, and number of visitors, then choose "Passport" as your ID type and enter your passport number. However, the registration requires a Chinese mobile phone number to receive verification codes and booking confirmations, and the official WeChat account is only available in Chinese, which might make the process slightly challenging for non-Chinese speakers. Moreover, payment is only accepted via WeChat Pay or Alipay.
2. Book via the self-service ticket machine at the tourist service center
You can also buy a ticket at the self-service machine on-site using your passport. Simply select "Passport Purchase", scan your passport, choose your preferred payment method such as WeChat Pay, Alipay, or Visa, complete the payment, and wait for the ticket to be issued. However, while tickets can be purchased on-site, availability is extremely limited because a majority of tickets are sold online. Visitors need to get to the scenic area early and be prepared for a long queue. Additionally, it's possible that you cannot buy tickets on the spot because ticket sales stop once they are sold out, especially during public holidays like the golden week from October 1 to 7 and the summer vacation in July and August.
