Datong South Railway Station

Datong South Railway Station is a terminal station on Datong – Xi’an high speed railway and Datong – Zhangjiakou high speed railway. It is about 11 kilometers (7 miles) to Downtown Datong, 13 kilometers (8 miles) to Datong Yungang Airport, 28 kilometers (17 miles) to Yungang Grottoes and 70 kilometers (43 miles) to Hanging Monastery & Mt. Hengshan.

  By City Bus:
The bus stop located at the east of the station building is called Datong Comprehensive Transportation Center, where passengers can take city bus no. 14, 31, 61, 66, 67, 68, 902, Night Line 5, Express Line 606 & 608 and Hunyuan Line 901 to Huayan Monastery, Fantawild Adventure Park, Datong Museum, Art Museum and other places in the city.

 Passengers can take city bus line 66 from Datong Railway Station to South Railway Station directly. The travel takes about 1 hour and costs CNY 1.
 City bus line 67 runs between the two places with a duration of 1 hour and a fare of CNY 1. 
 First, take city bus no. 31 from the train station to Jinzeyuan stop, then change to bus no. 12 to the scenic spot after 12 stops. It will take about 1 hour and 49 minutes and CNY 4.
 Take bus 901 at Comprehensive Transportation Center to Hengshan Tourist Center directly in about 1h40m at a cost of CNY 15. Then change to the shuttle bus to Hanging Monastery, which costs CNY 20 for a round trip.

Waiting Hall

 Special Waiting Area: In the east of waiting hall, there is waiting area for passengers needing special care, Children Entertainment Area and Nursing Room with crib, bottle warmer, and disinfection cabinet. It provides a comfortable and private space for mothers and babies. The business class lounge is also set.

Police Station: It is in the east ticket selling hall, offering help to people who lost their valid certificates.

Service Center: It provides services like lost & found and key service appointment like special care for people with mobility problems. Also, passengers can check the train information, tourism information and bus routes there.

 Left Luggage Service: Passengers can store their luggage at the stores on the left side of the station entrance, charging CNY 5 - 10/piece a day. Self-service lockers are available on -1F of the terminal building.
