Shenzhen Metro Line 5 (Huanzhong Line)

Shenzhen Metro Line 5 extends 50.5 kilometers (about 31.4 miles) with 37 stations from west to east forming a semi-circle surrounding the central area of the city, thus also called Huanzhong Line. It covers 5 core districts and serves as a golden corridor for commuting.

With an average daily passenger flow of over 1.4 million, Line 5 is the busiest metro route in the city. It starts running as early as 05:45, and closes at 00:39 with an interval of about 2 - 5 minutes during rush hours and 6 minutes other time on working days. The whole journey takes about 62 minutes and costs CNY 7.

Meanwhile, Shenzhen Subway Line 5 is a necessary tourist line, as it leads to transportation gateways like Shenzhen North Railway Station and Shenzhen East Railway Station, and some newly emerging scenic spots such as Qianhai Mixc, OH Bay Park, Ferris Wheel of Qianhai Bay, DJI Sky City, etc., as well as traditional attractions like Dongmen Pedestrian Street.

 Tips
1. Quick transfer passage is available at Hubei station; however, passengers changing to Line 2 there need to pay to exit first and then re-enter.
2. It takes about 5 – 8 minutes to transfer to Line 4 or Line 6 at large North Railway Station hub.
