Guilin Weather in February

Apart from that, it’s worth noting that high-altitude areas experience much colder weather in February. For example, the extremely low temperature in Ziyuan County can drop to -2 degrees Celsius (28 degrees Fahrenheit). In the deep mountain areas, it can even drop to -9 degrees Celsius (16 degrees Fahrenheit).

Coupled with winds, humid air can make the weather feel colder than you imagine; some people even call it chilly, especially when they visit lakes. With short daylight periods of about 11-12 hours, you need to make a more compact travel plan to visit more attractions that you are interested in. Although the night falls a bit early, you can still enjoy a stunning sunset view in the city center. You are advised to visit the viewing platform at Mount Yao by 17:00, so that you have ample time to enjoy the sun slowly setting behind the layered peaks, offering a traditional Chinese landscape painting. For a better view, it’s best to check the forecast and pick a day with sunny weather. 
 February is not a good time to appreciate the charm of Guilin, as the temperature can be variable, rainy days are frequent, and the outdoor natural scene is not very attractive. Luckily, Guilin sees a significant drop in tourist numbers and travel costs in February. Plus, a night river cruise can somewhat make up for the disappointment of poor weather during the daytime. If you don’t mind the overcast climate and want to enjoy a quiet travel experience, it’s ok to visit Guilin in February.
