The direct flight is very scanty, with one plane per day from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (CAN) to Zhangjiajie Hehua International Airport (DYG). If you don’t mind, many connecting flights are also available.

Note: Please notice that these two high speed trains have different departure stations. Thus, after arriving at Changsha South Railway Station, tourists need to take Metro Line 2 from Exit 7 and then get off at Chang Sha Huo Che Zhan Stop. How to Travel from Guangzhou to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park (Wulingyuan)

1. Flight + City Bus + Non-stop Coach: at least 3.5h, CNY545-715

First, tourists can book the Guangzhou to Zhangjiajie plane ticket at the cost of CNY530-700 for economy class. After a  flight of 1.5h, you can take city bus Outer Ring 4 (Si Lu Wai Huan) outside the airport. The bus ticket is CNY1 and remember to get off at Tian Men Shan Suo Dao stop. By city bus needs 40min in total. Then, it only takes you 11min to walk to Zhangjiajie Central Bus Station. The ticket of a convenient non-stop coach to Wulingyuan is sold here at the price of CNY13. And the duration is about 1h.

2. Normal Speed Train + Taxi: 13-14h, CNY380

The direct train from Guangzhou to Zhangjiajie takes 12-13h and nearly CNY300 for hard sleeper. Considering that there is no bus station around the Zhangjiajie West Railway Station, it’s suggested to hail a taxi to Wulingyuan at the cost of CNY80 and 40min.

3. Guangzhou to Changsha to Zhangjiajie High Speed Train + Taxi: 7-8h, at least CNY500

The transfer of high speed trains among these three cities may take you 6-7h in total. Most people will book the 2nd class seat, so the price is about CNY420. Also, tourists will reach Zhangjiajie West Railway Station. It’s recommended to spend CNY80 and 40min to Wulingyuan by taxi.

4. Long-distance Bus + Non-stop Coach: 13h, CNY215-275

The long-distance bus between these two places usually takes 12h at a cost of CNY190-260. Tourists will be sent to Zhangjiajie Central Bus Station, where you can directly transfer to a non-stop coach to Wulingyuan with CNY13 in 1 hour.
