1. Metro is available but you need to transfer. You can take Metro Line 6 to Tangzixiang and transfer to Metro Line 2 to take 1 station to South Ring Road Station, and then transfer to Metro Line 1 to take 1 station to reach the railway station. It takes about 40 minutes and costs CNY6 per person.

2. G2848 depart at 18:42 and G2844 at 19:19 are recommended. They both depart from Kunming Railway Station.

3. Kunming Railway Station is more suitable for you at that time.

Thank you for your inquiry.

However, we are sorry that there is no such rail pass between Kunming and Dali. You need to buy ticket for each appointed train on appointed day. There is only rail pass for Kunming-Yuxi part.

I think usually the deadline is 10min, but taking the time for tickets and security check, it is surely necessary be there much earlier in advance. Maybe no less than 60min.

Are all these high speed trains to Dali running from both stations in Kunming?
So we can choose to board at any of the two stations?

There are two exceptions, D8696 at 9:56 and D8726 at 15:35. They only use the main station, other rides stop at both the main station and South Station. If you booked a tickets from South Station, you can then board from any of them.

Why the ticket price is different on the trains?
I am looking for second class seats on trains from Kunming to Dali. I found the ticket price is different. Some costs RMB109, some is RMB132 or even RMB145. I read that there are two stations in Kunming. Is this the reason? Different departure station?

Like you mentioned, the trains could use different station but this is not the main reason for price difference. I read online some where that the railway company made a discount on some of these rides. When there is a discount of 25% off, the price is CNY109. There is no difference for tickets and service. If there is one at suitable time, it is a good deal.
