Pingyao Train Schedule

There are two railway stations in the city:

Pingyao Railway Station

Located on No. 14 Zhongdu Road, Pingyao Railway Station is about 10 minutes walking from the west gate of Ancient City of Pingyao. The station mainly has normal trains to/from many domestic cities such as Beijing, Datong, Taiyuan, Xi'an, Luoyang, Chengdu, Chongqing, Tianjin, and Changsha.

Pingyao Ancient City Railway Station

Located between Houji Village and Ducun Village, Ancient City Railway Station is a major stop along Datong – Xi'an High Speed Railway. This station mainly operates high speed trains to/from Beijing, Taiyuan, Xi'an, Jinzhong, Jiexiu, Yuncheng, Lingshi, and Houma, etc.

How to get to The Wangs’ Family Courtyard from Pingyao Ancient town station?

I will arrive at the Pingyao around 11:00 am.

I suggest you visit the Pingyao ancient town in the afternoon on your arrival day, and almost all hotels have car to the Wang’s Family Courtyard, you can share a car with the other travelers, the price is about CNY50-60 per person. Or just rent a car from the hotel.

Seems no direct bus, you need to make a transfer in Taiyuan

You may take bus 108 to the People's hospital and then walk around 1.5km to the hostel.

If I book the tickets from Taiyuan to Xi'an, it is no problem to hop on in Pingyao?

If the train you booked has a stop in Pingyao, it is OK to board there. This is the most important point. You do need to have the paper tickets in hand in advance before the departure time at Taiyuan and reach station in advance.
