Normal Trains of Pingyao – Xi'an

There is one pair of normal speed trains between the two cities, which run between Xi'an Railway Station and Pingyao Railway Station. Both of the trains depart at night and arrive in the next morning, which are quite good choices for budget travelers. These departures can save one-night accommodation fee and the day time. If traveling by any of them, please purchase a hard sleeper or a soft sleeper berth beforehand. In this case, passengers can have a good rest and keep energy. Besides, only a few sockets are provided in each sleeper carriage, passengers had better bring a portable charge device on their own.

Operation time of Airport Express from Xi'an North Station to airport

Is this Express train still in service? What's operation time?

How can I book round trip tickets online?

Is one day enough to visit Pingyao? And any discount for round trip?

Is Pingyao Ancient Town station in walking distance?

I will stay at Pingyao Jiaxin Guesthouse.

No, it is not a walking distance. The station is more than 9km away. But you can walk about 200m to the Beimenkou bus station and take bus 108 directly there. It take around 30min but you'd better to have extra 10min or so for a waiting time.

Hi, can I board the train from Pingyao if booked from Taiyuan?

If I book a ticket from Taiyuan to Xi'an on D1901, will it be a problem to get on at Pingyao Ancient Town?

It is no problem to board from Pingyao though the ticket shows Taiyuan. Taiyuan is one stop before your boarding, so the seats will still be hold for you. You can use the booked seat shows on your paper ticket directly. The impotent thing is that do collect the paper ticket in advance before 7:20am, the departure time from Taiyuan, otherwise, there is a possibility that you will lose your seat.
