Guizhou Weather in March

 Guizhou ushers in the spring, in the middle of March. It gets warmer gradually, but Guizhou weather is quite changeable during the period.
When it comes into March, the temperature goes up gradually in Guizhou, and reach an average level of 9-16 degrees Celsius (48.2-60.8℉) on the whole. However, there may be a cold spell in the early spring, so it’s still crucial to keep warm in March. Although the maximum temperature is as high as 27℃ (80.6℉), the minimum temperature is also considerably low – 1℃ (33.8℉) only.
 The amount of precipitation increases remarkably in Guizhou in March, as it closes to the total amount of the first two months. But the overall situation doesn’t change much, and Guizhou is always humid. There are 14 drizzling days, and a few sunny days merely. At most time, it is cloudy or overcast.

Besides, it wouldn’t snow anymore in Guizhou. Even if there is a snow in March, it would stop in half a day probably. And, it’s more likely to encounter a snow on the mountains during the month.
 The daylight hours become longer in Guizhou in March, as the sunrise occurs during 06:44-07:16, and the sun goes down at 18:54-19:10. The daylight hours exceed 12h basically, but the average sunshine hours reach about 3.5h in most areas. Sometimes, the sunshine hours can be over 5h.
 March is generally regarded as the windiest month in Guizhou, as the wind becomes stronger somewhat. In particular, the southerly wind often blows in Guizhou in the first half of this month. It rustles trees, but not strong enough to whirl dusts aloft or turn an umbrella over. So never mind it.
 

 To adapt to the drizzling Guizhou weather and big temperature difference between day and night, it’s advised to wear waterproof jacket and take a thick overcoat.

You can wear a thin sweater, knitwear or fleece hoodie plus a thick jacket. For the lower part, long johns plus fleece-lined pants are good. In early March, at night, or when the temperature drops suddenly, you can wear warmer or add you thick overcoat (thin down coat, thin padded coat, etc.).

A waterproof jacket is optimal to handle the drizzles in Guizhou, especially a pair of waterproof hiking shoes could help a lot. If your feet feel cold, you can also put on fleece socks or thick socks.

Umbrella, or raincoat, is the necessity in Guizhou. You can never forget it.

Although it’s still a bit cold in March, it has entered a good time for sightseeing in Guizhou. Most scenic areas are sight-worthy while various beautiful flowers compete for blossoms. Rape flowers in Forest of Ten Thousand Peaks are still full-blown in the first half of March, while the vast forest of cherry blossoms is also stunning in Gui’an in late March. At the same time, most famous attractions like Huangguoshu Waterfalls, Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village, Fanjing Mountain and Qingyan Ancient Town are all greeted with more visitors.

Tips:
1. March is the end of slack season and the beginning of high season in Guizhou. In March, many attractions such as Huangguoshu Waterfalls rise the ticket prices.
2. It’s not advised to go to One-Hundred-Li Azalea Belt Scenic Spot in March. The viewing time of azaleas there falls in April. March is too early to see the beautiful flowers all over the area.
