Guizhou Weather in April

 It’s not cold on the whole, but it is a little cool in early April. Guizhou weather is quite pleasant in mid-late April, as it becomes warmer and warmer.  If you plan to travel to Guizhou in early April, it’s best to wear warm. Long-sleeve knitwear or thin sweater plus an outdoor jacket/thick coat is proper. In a warmer city like Guiyang, you could take off the outwear. Comfortable waterproof hiking shoes are recommended, for it rains frequently and there is usually a long way to walk in the scenic areas in Guizhou. As you need to walk, you can also wear a sports jacket on the top. If getting hot from walking, you can also take off it at noon. However, don’t travel without a coat for long.

To the middle and late April, thinner clothes are more suitable. You can wear a long-sleeve shirt, hoodie, knitting cardigan, thin windbreaker, casual pants, etc. Clothes, especially the outwear, in dark color are more advised, which can mask stains if you dirty it while having a meal. Waterproof sneakers and non-slip Martens boots are great in the mountainous Guizhou.

Tips:
Raincoat or umbrella is a must on your Guizhou trip. Meanwhile, a raincoat is also useful in Huangguoshu Waterfalls area.
A waterproof bag or backpack can protect your phone and other electronic products from the sudden rainfall.
You can wear sunglasses, wide-brimmed hat or casquette to protect your eyes from ultraviolet rays outdoors.

One-Hundred-Li Azalea Belt Scenic Area is the most popular attractions in Guizhou in the middle of April, to marvel at the azalea flowers all over the mountains. Huangguoshu Waterfalls and Xiaoqikong in Libo are also charming even though it’s still in the dry season. Fanjing Mountain is also the top attractions in Guizhou, and Qianling Hill Park in Guiyang downtown is also welcomed to breathe fresh air. Zhaoxing Dong Village, Langde Miao Village, etc. are the most-visited for an ethnic culture exploration.

Furthermore, multiple ethnic groups celebrate their Double Third Festival on March 3rd on the traditional calendar. It often falls in April, except that at the end of March some years. It’s a chance to experience the ethnic culture and listening the folk songs, etc. However, it is a crowded period, especially in the southern and southwestern regions of Guizhou.
