I'm Canadian and have been married to a Chinese lady got two years. We got married and we now both live here. What is the procedure for me to qualify for a long term (5 year) permament visa if I plan to stay longer here? I have now been living here for more than four years.

 Answered by Mr.Charles
It is very difficult to get a permanent visa. Please read the Regulations on Permanent Residence of Aliens on the website https://www.travelchinaguide.com/embassy/visa/refusal.htm, then you know the regulations are so strict and rigorous.

Hi, I'm a US passport holder. My 1 year Chinese Visa will expire soon, but I need to stay longer for another five days. I don't think I'll have time to renew it prior to my trip.
So my question here is, can I extend or renew it while in Beijing? I thank you in advance for your prompt response.

 Answered by Mrs. Lorna(USA)
Yes, you can extend the duration of your visa at the Exit & Enter Department of Beijing Public Security Bureau before it expires.

  Asked by Ms. Marja(AUSTRALIA)
I am a German passport holder with a working visa for Australia, wishing to travel soon - is it possible for me to obtain a visa from one of the consulates in Australia (or possibly new Zealand, as I may be traveling here in the next few months)?? Thanks :)

 Answered by Mr. Mac
Yes, you can apply from one Chinese consulate in Australia which is near to you because you hold Australian work visa which permits you stay in Australia for a long time. If you apply in New Zealand, you maybe can't get it because you just a temporary visitors to New Zealand. Please bear in mind that single entry tourist L is only valid for 3 months, please don't apply for it too early.

UK tourist application for over and under 70s
My sister (over 70) and I (under 70) are travelling to China (we hope!). I understand that she doesn't need to go in person, so can I submit both our applications when I go to the Visa office and can I pick up her documents as well as mine when the visa are granted? How do they let you know when they are ready? Thanks

Yes, you can and seniors over 70 do not need to apply in person. The expected date for collecting your passport is shown on the pick-up form issued to you on the day of application. If there is any delay, the visa centre staff will notify you ASAP.

No, the 144 only allows you to stay for 6 days in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei. Heihe in Heilongjiang is not the allowed area you can stay. You will need a China visa for this route.

From the route I can tell that you are staying in Mainland China for less than 24 hours, right? Then you enjoy the 24-hour visa-free transit and don't need a visa.

Apply for S1 visa in Hong Kong
Hello. My husband and I are from South Africa. We are currently residing in Yiwu. He is on a tourist visa, because when we went to apply for an S1 visa for him, we did not have the correct documents. Can he apply for a S1 visa in Hong Kong? If so, where will he go to apply - embassy or visa centre, and what are the requirements? Can he get a visa on the same day or only urgent? and what are the fees for same day / urgent?

It's very hard for him to get a S1 in HK. I'm afraid he has to go back to South Africa to apply for a S1 at the visa centers. Or just try in HK beforehand.
Requirements:
Passport
Visa Application Form and Photo
An invitation letter from the inviting individual
Information on the visit
Information on the inviting individual
A photocopy of the inviting individual's passport and residence permit
Original and photocopy of certification showing the relationship of immediate family members between applicants and inviting individual.
The visa fee is ZAR 1151, and the express service taking 3 working days costs ZAR 1,865. He cannot get a visa on the same day since same day pick-up is not available.

Thamk you for the feedback. Do you by any chance know what the fee is in Hong Kong? And how long the express takes in Hong Kong?

It costs HKD 470 for a single entry for normal service no matter what visa type you apply, HKD 860 for express, and HKD 1,440 for urgent service.
