 In June, the weather of Huangshan is hot, with the daily highest temperature between about 22 and 35 degrees Celsius (72 and 95 degrees Fahrenheit). More than half of this month experiences high temperature above 30°C (86°F), making it essential to prevent heatstroke. The lowest temperature is generally higher than 18°C (64°F), so even you set off to climb the Huangshan Mountain before sunrise or watch a lantern show in Chengkan Village at night, you still feel comfortable.
 From June on, the plum rain season featuring continuous rainy days starts in Huangshan. Throughout the month, Huangshan has about 17 rainy days and is likely to experience persistent rain. With the precipitation of about 388 mm, Huangshan in June is the wettest in a year. In this month, short-term heavy rain and thunderstorms can happen. Too much rainfall even causes landslides and floods, bringing inconvenience and danger.
 High rainfall brings a large quantity of moisture in the air, resulting that the humidity of Huangshan in June is about 81%, which is the highest in the entire year. In such a weather condition, along with the high temperature, people easily feel humid and sweat a lot.
 In June, the sun rises at about 05:01 the earliest and sets at around 19:15, and the day with the longest daylight duration of about 14.2 hours falls in this month. The long daytime further leads to long average sunshine duration of about 6 hours. The high UV index of 6 makes sun protection indispensable on sunny days.
 In view of high rainfall in June, it’s not recommended to visit Huangshan this month. Sightseeing becomes inconvenient on heavily rainy days, because rain water may accumulate on road surfaces in villages, and rain water flows down rapidly from steps of the Huangshan Mountain. When thunderstorm occurs, it’ll be dangerous to travel around the high-altitude mountain area.

This month also has a few rainless days, and you can arrange your tour on these days.
  Clothes: Short-sleeved shirts / T-shirts, and shorts. For ladies, dresses can be packed for an ancient village tour on sunny days. To prevent sunburn, sun-protective clothing is needed. Since the humidity of Huangshan in June is high, you’d better wear quick-dry clothes.

 Shoes: Sandals for sunny days and non-slippery sneakers for rainy days.

 Necessities:
(1) Raingear: You’re suggested to bring both an umbrella and a lightweight raincoat, if you plan to visit both the city area and the mountain area.
(2) Mosquito Repellent: High precipitation breeds mosquito, especially in the grass by rivers, making mosquito repellent a must.
(3) Portable Fan: This item helps bring some coolness in the humid environment.
 1. On days with thunderstorms or strong winds, cable cars in the Huangshan Mountain Scenic Area will be out of services.

2. It’s quite hard to predict specific weather conditions of the Huangshan Mountain area, and it’s most ideal to arrange your climbing on clear days. Particularly, on sunny days after rain, it’s more possible to see sea of clouds, one of four wonders of the mountain.

3. On slightly rainy days, once the air becomes moist, it’s likely to fog, which is not entirely a bad thing. Residences in Xidi Ancient Village have grey-tile roofs, white walls, and carved windows, and they exude tranquil beauty in the mist.
