Beijing Subway Line 18, located in northern Beijing, officially commenced operation on December 27, 2025. The initial operational segment runs from Malianwa Station in Haidian District to Tiantongyuan East Station in Changping District, spanning approximately 19.8 kilometers (about 12.3 miles) with 11 stations.
It was constructed to alleviate severe traffic pressure in the northern suburbs. The line traverses Haidian and Changping Districts, directly serving the Zhongguancun Software Park, Huilongguan, and Tiantongyuan areas, forming a rapid commuter corridor for the massive residential communities in Huilongguan and Tiantongyuan.
