How to Travel from Xi’an to Huashan
Huashan Mountain is in Huayin City, about 120 kilometers (75 miles) east of Xi’an City. If you travel from Xi’an to Mt. Huashan, Huayin City is your first stop, and there are multiple ways for you to choose: high-speed train, normal-speed train, tourist bus, or taxi.
Upon arrival in Huayin City, your next stop depends on the way to ascend Mount Huashan: (1) if you choose to take a cable car to the peak, the Huashan Tourist Center is the next stop; (2) if you choose to hike up the mountain, you need to get to the Jade Spring Temple, also known as Yuquan Temple, which is about 3 kilometers (2 miles) away from the Huashan Tourist Center.
Route: Xi’an North Railway Station → Huashan North Railway Station
Schedule: 07:46 to 22:08, with departure intervals between 4 and 26 minutes in the daytime. The last four trains respectively depart at 18:07, 19:16, 20:01 and 22:08.
Duration: about 30 minutes.
Ticket Fare: G Trains - USD 8; and the only D train at 22:08 - USD 5.5.
How to Get to Xi’an North Railway Station?
Take Metro Line 2 or Line 4, get off at Xianbei / Xi’an North Railway Station, and follow the indicators to the entrance to the station.
Route: Xi’an Railway Station →Huashan Railway Station

Ticket Fare: C Train - USD 4; K Train - USD 3.
Suitable for: Tourists who prefer an economical way or stay closer to the city center of Xi’an.
How to Get to Xi’an Railway Station?
Take Metro Line 4 and get off at Xianzhan / Xi’an Railway Station, and follow the indicators to reach the entrance.

Suitable for: Tourists who stay closer to these two stations. Another advantage of this way is that tourists can get to Huashan Tourist Center directly.
How to Get to Xi’an Coach Station?
Take Metro Line 4 to Xi’an Railway Station, get off from Exit C, and walk to the southwest for about 10 minutes to get to the Station.
How to Get to Fangzhicheng Coach Station?
Take Metro Line 1 to Fangzhicheng Station, get off from Exit D, and you’ll see the Station.
One flexible way from downtown Xi’an to Huashan Mountain is taking a taxi, through which you can skip the trip to the railway or bus station and have a relatively comfortable journey, but of course a taxi ride costs more money. For a single-way journey from Xi’an to Huashan, it takes about 1.5 to 2 hours and costs USD 40 to 85.
This way is especially recommended to a group of 3 or 4 people favoring a comfortable drive. By the way, you can get to the Huashan Tourist Center or Yuquan Temple directly by taxi, without considering Step 2.
In this step, no matter if you take the cable car to the North Peak or West Peak of the Mountain, the Huashan Tourist Center is your next stop, from which you can take the bus of the attraction to the according cable car station.
By Free Taxi
The boarding point is 50 meters (55 yards) east to the station exit. Every four tourists can take the free taxi after showing the staff their tickets to the Huashan Moutain Attraction. Plus, this type of taxi operates from 8:00 to 18:00, and takes you about 10 minutes to the tourist center.
By Free Shuttle Bus
Exit the railway station, walk left to the Huayin Bus Terminal across the road, and take the free shuttle bus Huayin Line 1 / Line 2. The bus journey takes about 30 minutes, and the operation time of the bus is from 7:10 to 19:10. In general, the bus departs every 30 minutes.
By Taxi
A taxi ride takes you about 10 minutes and about USD 2 to Huashan Tourist Center. You can consider it outside the operating time of free taxis and shuttle buses, or when there are a lot of people queueing up the free vehicles, especially during China’s Public Holiday.

Since no free shuttle vehicles operate between these two places, taking a taxi is probably the most convenient way. It takes about 10 minutes to get to the tourist center, and the ride costs about USD 1.5.

Cross the road left to the railway station to get to the Huayin Bus Terminal, and take Bus No. 603 to the Huashan Station. The bus drive takes about 40 minutes and costs less than USD 1.
There are three ways to get there. The most convenient is by taxi - it takes about 10 minutes and costs around USD 1.50. Alternatively, you can take Bus No. 603 from Yaochang Station to Huashan Station, which costs less than USD 1 but takes about 30 minutes. You can also walk, which takes about 20 minutes.
Free shuttle bus between these two places operates throughout the day, and a single-way journey takes about 10 minutes.
