Chongqing East Railway Station

Chongqing East Railway Station has been in service since June 2025. With an area of 301.5 acres (122 square meters), roughly equivalent to 170 football fields, it can accommodate 15,000 passengers at most.

The station is about 8.7 miles (14 kilometers) from Jiefangbei CBD, 14.9 miles (24 kilometers) from Chongqing West Railway Station, 12.4 miles (20 kilometers) from Chongqing North Railway Station, and 16.2 miles (26 kilometers) from Jiangbei International Airport.

Address: No.518 on Kaicheng Avenue, Changshengqiao Town, Nan’an District.
 

As a main stop of high speed railways linking Chongqing – Xiamen, Chengdu – Chongqing, Chongqing – Guiyang, and Chongqing – Kunming, the East Station mainly operates bullet trains to/from Xian, Chengdu, Changsha, Nanning, Zhangjiajie, Huaihua, Nanchang, Shaoyang, Qianjiang, Wanzhou, etc. and normal speed trains to/from Guangzhou and Xiamen.

In the near future, passengers will be able to reach Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou in about 6 hours, Wuhan, Changsha, and Kunming in 3 hours, and Chengdu and Guiyang in only 1 hour by trains departing from Chongqing East.

  Arrival by metro line 6 - East Station branch:
Metro line 6 – East Station branch passes through Chongqing East at 6:30 – 23:00 with an interval of about 12 minutes. In the future, metro lines 24 and 27 will also stop here.

 Arrival by bus:
At Chongqing East Station Bus Stop: 100, 102, 345, D535, Night Express Line

 Arrival by taxi:
Passengers taking a taxi will arrive on F1 of the station. After exiting the hall, take an escalator or elevator to F5, where the railway entrance is located. 

 

Passengers who have booked a ticket in advance can go through ID verification and security check at either entrance of F5. If not, buy one at the service & ticket center near entrance 1 or 2 before entering to wait for departure. Then, find the corresponding boarding point according to ticket book information or giant LED screens in the waiting hall and wait nearby. 

Pay attention to the broadcast, and queue up to check in when it says your check gate is open. To note that the ticket checking gates usually close 3 minutes before departure.

  Leave by metro:
Go down to the first floor and take metro line 6 – East Station branch.

 Leave by bus:
Follow the direction signs after exiting to reach its bus station, where buses to the airport, Ci Qi Kou Village, etc. are in service. 

 Leave by taxi:
Taxis and online-hailing cars are available on F2. A giant electronic screen is set in the waiting area, displaying the car number, status, and waiting point.

 Leave by coach:
Passengers can take a long-distance bus on 3F after checking out. Now, buses to Qijiang, Wansheng, Hechuan, Yuechi, and Huairen are running. 
  Chongqing West Railway Station
Take metro line 6 – East Station branch and transfer to line 6 at Liujiaping station. Then, interchange to line 5 at Dalongshan station, which will take you to Chongqing West.

 Chongqing North Railway Station
Take metro line 6 – East Station branch to Liujiaping station, and change to circle line at Wulidian station. Get off at South Square of Chongqing North.

 Jiangbei Airport
1. Take the special bus line D620 running between Chongqing East and the airport at 8:30 – 21:00. It takes about 1 hour and costs CNY 15/person.
2 Get to Liujiaping station by metro line 6 – East Station branch first, and go on to take metro line 6 to Hongtudi station. After that, transfer to line 10 and reach the airport after 9 stops. A total of 1h20m is required.

 Ci Qi Kou Village
Take metro line 6 – East Station branch and transfer to line 6 at Liujiaping station. After 2 stops, get off at Xiaoshizi station, where you can take line 1 to Ciqikou.

 Jiefangbei CBD
Take metro line 6 at Liujiaping station, which can be reached by line 6 – East Station branch, and get off at Xiaoshizi station, Exit 5A out. Then, walk about 0.62 miles (1 kilometer) to get to the destination.

 Service & Ticket Center                                                               
Two service centers are set next to Entrance 1 & 2 on the west and north sides, respectively. Passengers can deal with all issues about tickets there. Also, if you need help finding your checking gate or something others, go there at any time.

 Waiting Hall
Giant waiting hall boasts 6,500 seats, 1,000 of which are equipped with charging ports. Sockets are available on the charging lamp post inside the hall. Business class lounges and baby care rooms can also be found. Other facilities include restrooms, the information desk, drinking water rooms, restaurants, convenience stores, and power bank rental points.

Self-service luggage cabinets with 3 sizes are set in the metro station hall, which can be reached during the open time of the metro station.
