Chongqing - Yichang Train

At present, over 30 pairs of high speed trains and about 5 pairs of normal speed trains are operated between Chongqing and Yichang daily. The former need take about 4 - 5 hours to complete a single journey as long as about 553 km (343 mi). The ticket of a second class seat is sold at the price of CNY 162 - 170.5. The latter contain overnight sleeper trains whose price for a hard sleeper is no less than CNY 148 per person. The duration of them is about 5 - 12 hours.

We would like to take a high speed train from Yichang East to Chongqing.

Which railway station should we get down? Chongqing railway station or chongqing north. Thank you

All the high speed trains will stop at Chongqing North Station.

We are looking for bullet train from Yichang East to Chongqing North

We have a baby stroller with us, can we take it into carriage if we book first class seat?

The luggage policy is the same no matter for which seat class. A foldable stroller can be take into carriage, you can put it on the luggage rack or near the seats beside you. If your budget allows, first class seats are surely more comfortable with more space, but second class seats also works. Hope this information can help you.

How early should I be at the station for checkin at Yichang East Station?

I am not sure if I can managed to catch a train at 16:11pm.

Hi, the website advise me to reach the station about 1.5 hours in advance to collect the ticket and go through security check. But they also says the time can be shorted to 40min if I will have paper ticket directly. So if you are tight in time, you can consider: a. collect the ticket beforehand once you reach China. b. to have paper tickets delivered to you directly! : )

How do I know if I need to go to the North Square or South Square?

The high speed rides use North Station and slow rides use South Station. It will also write on the paper ticket. You may show the paper ticket to a local people if needed. By the way, I heard that now people can walk between the two squares now.
