All of them run between Xian Railway Station and Changsha Railway Station. Both K type and Z type trains are in service. If you will travel by normal speed train, you are advised to choose Z type which take the shortest time of 13.5 – 15 hours. Besides, overnight sleeper trains including Z232/Z230 are highly recommended as they can save the day time and one-night accommodation fee. Please purchase a soft sleeper or hard sleeper berth as this is a long-distance journey. A sleeper can allow you to have a good rest on the way and make the journey more comfortable.

 Xian to Changsha flights usually take about 2 hours for a single journey and the airlines may provide great discounts in low season, when a flight travel will be a quite good choice for tourists.

However, the flight may cost a little more in peak season. Besides, changeable weather and air traffic control may cause flight delays frequently. If count in time to/from the airports in both sides and time for flight boarding, the total flight consumed time will be no much difference from high speed train consumed time. In this case, bullet train travel is a more preferable choice because its fixed schedule guarantees the punctuality. Mobile devices are not allowed to be used on flights, but they can be used when traveling by rail.
