Changsha to Zhangjiajie Bicycle Tour

BC-CS01 : 5 Days Changsha - Yiyang - Changde - Wulingyuan
Upon your arrival in Changsha, you should head first for Hunan First Normal University where Chairman Mao conducted his studies. You can stay overnight at the 7 Days Inn located at 179 Middle Furong Road, Changsha to rest up for the coming day's cycling!
 
On the morning of the second day, head to Changsha Orange Island which is located at the center of the Xiangjiang River and is about 10 miles long. The narrowest spot on the island is only 40 meters wide while the broadest place reaches 140 meters. Here you will find a park with thousands of orange trees and hence the name. You can see Yuelu Academy to the west and Changshapo on the east from the island. Afterward, continue to ride passing Leifeng and Bairuopu towns to reach Ningxiang county and on arriving, have a short stay there and heading northwest to get to Yiyang (roughly 100km from Changsha). On route from Ningxiang county to Yiyang, you should pass by Henglongqiao, Cangshuipu and Longguangqiao counties in turn. Upon arrival in Yiyang, find a local hotel to relax. (If you want to hang around in Yiyang, you can visit some scenic surroundings such as Peachblossom Lake 35km to the south of Taojiang county, Xiunv Hill located at Xiushan county, and Longquan cave in Anhua county and so on.)    
 
Heading northwest to the old city of Changde (88km away from Yiyang) on the third day, find a hotel and experience its local culture. On the next day, ride to Taohuayuan which lies in the south of Changde. Taohuayuan is famous for its scenic landscape and has superb sightseeing, cultural and artistic merits. It is among the top ten scenic spots of Hunan province and is very worthy of a visit. Cycle back to Changde city area in the afternoon.  
 
On the fifth day, cycle the 90km to Shimen county to visit Jiashan Temple scenic area and Hupingshan nature reserve to appreciate the beautiful views. Say goodbye to the county on the morning of the sixth day and go on to ride to Wulingyuan which is well known for its strange peaks and stones, deep valleys, peaceful waters and water-eroded caves. It is made up of three scenic areas. They are Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, Suoxiyu Valley and Tianzi Mountain. In the following two days, you should linger to enjoy the amazing natural beauty of the area.
