Changsha - Fuzhou Train

Around 5 pairs of high speed trains are shuttling between Changsha in Hunan Province and Fuzhou in Fujian Province on a daily basis. Four or so pairs of them are G trains taking 4.5-5.5 hours; a single ride costs CNY 404.5 on a second class seat. One pair of them is D trains; it takes nearly 6 hours but the ticket fare is lower, CNY 266 for a ride on a second class seat. The normal speed and overnight sleeper trains are not in service at present.

1. The above trains are all operated at Changsha South Railway Station and Fuzhou Railway Station. The Changsha to Fuzhou high speed train G1758 also arrives at Fuzhou South Railway Station at 20:06. But it is not recommended to use Fuzhou South as it is further from the city center, except you are going to stay near that station.

Travel Tips

1. The Fuzhou – Changsha high speed train timetable may not meet your travel time. In this case, the flight can be taken into consideration, which takes only about one and a half hours.

2. There are two railway stations called Fuzhou in China. One of the stations is in Jiangxi Province, while the one we are talking about is in Fujian Province. Please make sure you choose the right one when booking the ticket. For your reference, this website distinguish them in this way:

G403 departs from Beijing West Station at 8am and reach Changsha South Station at 1:38pm. It is not the final stop, it goes to Kunming finally.

What is the difference between G1758 and D2602?
Also, to go to Hilton Garden Inn Fuzhou Cangshan, should I get off at Fuzhou Station or South Station if I choose G1758.

The facilities are not a big difference, except that there is no business class seat on D2602. However, they did runs on different routes. D2602 takes longer time and much cheaper. Therefore, for budget travelers, D2602 is surely better option. If you need to travel faster, then G1758 is good one.

The distance from both stations to your hotel is also almost the same. 15km from the South Station and 16km from the main station. By taxi, it takes around 30min and the taxi fare would be around CNY50.
