Hefei West Railway Station

Hefei West Railway Station is the second largest railway station in Hefei City, just following Hefei South Railway Station. It is located about 17 kilometers (11 miles) from Hefei Railway Station, 11 kilometers (7 miles) from Hefei South Railway Station, 34 kilometers (21 miles) from Xinqiao International Airport,  43 kilometers (27 miles) from Sanhe Ancient Town, 70 kilometers (43 miles) from Chao Lake, and 11 kilometers (7 miles) from Memorial Temple of Lord Bao.

Hefei West Train Station, as a national transportation junction, is linked with major cities in China through high speed rail lines, including Shanghai, Shenzhen, Xi’an, Bengbu, Hangzhou, Fuzhou, Qingdao, Nanchang, etc. 

Thanks to the completion of Hefei West Railway Station, passengers can go to Anqing from Hefei by high speed train in only 1 hour, from Hefei to Nanchang in 2.5 hours, and to Shenzhen in only 8 hours.

 Hefei West Railway Station consists of three buildings – two higher buildings in two sides with a lower one in the middle, which looks like a capitalized letter “H” from its appearance. The letter “H” represents the initial letter of “He” in “He Fei” and the initial letter of “Hui” in “An Hui”, in which province Hefei is located. “H” also symbolizes “和”, pronounced as “He” in Chinese and meaning “harmony”.

There are two squares - the east square and the west square. The East Entrance is adjacent to Ticket Gates 1A and 1B, while the West Entrance is close to Ticket Gates 14A and 14B. 

The first floor houses Boarding Gates from 1A1B to 14A14B. Restrooms, water fountains, charging stations, and a children's play area are offered here. The second floow features dining options. 

 Take metro line 3 and get off at the railway station directly. Besides, the subway line S1, linking Hefei South Railway Station and Hefei West Railway Station, is expected to operate by  July 2026. 

A special tip: if you are in a hurry, exit C of the line 3 metro station is the closest to the high-speed rail entrance, just a 5-minute walk away. 
 Passengers can take the following lines to arrive at Hefei West Railway Station: line 16, line 116, line 35 and line 324. 
 To Western Entrance: The top choice for ride-hailing or taking a cab - passengers can quickly access the arrival hall. 

To Southern Entrance: The best option for a rainy day: there is a 540-meter ramp leading to the waiting area, which can prevent you from getting wet. 

Northern Entrance: Recommended for passengers with large luggage.
